Rich Jerk, Poor Jerk

My apologies to Robert Kiyosaki, author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" for my variance on the title of his book. Rich Dad, Poor Dad offers a lot of information to readers about how one should go about setting up a wealth base.

Recently there has been a lot of negative marketing designed to abuse people by making them feel inadequate. Comments such as "I'm rich and you're not" and "I just bought two cars and a yacht, did you?" and the classic "I'm better than you" are all designed to get attention. In my opinion, that sounds like the sort of thing you might hear in a kindergarten playground.

Since when has having lots of money been the determining factor of being superior? Saddam Hussein had lots of money, so did Adolf Hitler. Idi Amin had a big Swiss bank account. Lots of disgusting people have plenty of money.

If the so-called self proclaimed "Rich Jerk" is so superior why does he have to stoop to this sort of marketing to make a quick buck?

I'll tell you why - because it's getting harder and harder to be unique and stand out from the crowd. As soon as somebody gets a new idea everybody else wants to copy it. Well I sure do hope the imitators stay away from this gimmick.

Predictably, the affiliate marketing brigade is already climbing all over it like the Ebola virus in their quest to get a piece of the action. Some of them even "cluck, cluck" over the tactics then sprout something like how wonderful the content is. Really!

I first saw this technique, dubbed "anti-marketing," a few months ago when I visited a well-known marketer's web page. This guy's name is very recognizable. He was well respected - once. But I fear he is going down a path of self-destruction by doing what he is doing.

His website, a thoroughly boring looking thing, contained several dozen envelopes that you had to click on to read the letters inside. After reading several of these so-called "sales letters" I just clicked away from the site, disgusted. Each letter was crammed with rude, abusive, offensive, obnoxious slurs. If this is where the latest marketing trend is headed then there will be a lot of people who will simply not put up with it.

Shock tactics like this will not last. They might have a short time in the sun but the amusement value will soon wane. You cannot treat people in such a derisory manner and expect to stay on top of the game. Reputations will be lost over this. I guess that's why some people who are doing it hide behind pseudonyms. But hey, this is the internet - word soon gets out about true identities.

The sooner this fad dies an early death the better. I'm reminded of a saying by Lobsang Rampa: "I'd rather be a small shrimp in the sea of faith than a dead whale on the beach."

Next time you see marketing containing these negative hallmarks do yourself a favor. Do what I do, click away.

Viral Marketing Is Not Instant

Another very important point to bear in mind is the fact that viral marketing is NOT instant. You will need to be patient while sticking to your well thought out plan. A Complete Rundown of MN SEO Services

If you're searching online for MN seo services, chances are you'll have wade through quite a bit of fluff on the results pages before finding that perfect candidate. So to aid you in your search, we've segmented the types of MN seo companies most commonly found on the SERPS into 3 major archetypes, followed by specific questions to ask in order to accurately judge the level of skill, ethics, and over-all worthiness of each.

SEO Services Archetype #1 - The Value Adders

This is by far and away the most commonly found archetype returned for a "MN SEO Services" search. This is the web development company who knows they have to offer online marketing services in order to stay competitive, but may not possess the knowledge or skill required to implement a truly effective campaign; one that increases sales. Bear in mind that search engine marketing is transient in nature. 40% of my day is spent researching algorithmic changes and trends that affect my clients. Considering that SEO is not their main area of focus, the value adder is probably using techniques that are at least partially outdated, or are observing only base-level best practices.

Questions to ask the Value Adders:

1. How often do you update your best practices?

2. What methods do you use to acquire high quality back links?

3. Can you show me evidence of increased sales in addition to your

customers ranking statistics?

SEO Services Archetype #2 - The "Big Fish"

There are a few select companies that completely dominate the results pages for Minnesota specific SEO related searches. These are what we'll call the big fish. You know they're doing something right, because their website appears at the top of the list for almost any conceivable keyword search pertaining to SEO in MN. In some cases this might speak to the expertise of the company's CEO or PR department, not neccesarily the skill of their staff.

Either way, cases of total SERP domination point not only to a big fish, but also big budgets. Expect to shell out chunk of change. Although the Big Baller is a good solution for companies who are seeking a massive campaign (and can afford it,) smaller fish are usually better for smaller projects.

If you are company looking for the best SEO money can buy, ask the following questions:

1. Who worked on your companies SEO campaign, and will they be working on mine? (Big Ballers usually have a good sized staff.)

2. What metrics do you have in place to measure my ROI?

3. How do your SEO services differ from [blank] company in MN?

SEO Services Archetype #3 - The Independent Conslutants

You guessed it. This archetype is characterized by the fact that they call their own shots. They are the independent SEO consultants. If an independant's website shows up in the SERPS, it probably belongs there. They most likely achieved that placement using their own tactics not requiring the approval or input of higher-ups, all the while working on SEO for their clients. Of course an independent consultant wont magically be the right fit just because they are independent and have some search engine visibility. There are many factors at work here, so exercising discernment is crucial.

Questions to ask independent consultants:

1. What kind of results have you achieved for your clients?

2. What are their telephone numbers?

And here's a bonus trick: Go to Yahoo! and type in linkdomain:www.theirwebsite.com If their backlinks come from mostly spammy directories, run in the other direction. Legitimate SEOs know that high quality links are a chief ranking criterion, and will have the relevant inbound links from authoritative sources to show it.

Looking For A Good Internet Marketing Resource Tip

A good internet marketing resource tip? Yeah, I think I've got one I can let you in on.

Here's one that I highly recommend: instead of hiding behind many of the typical internet marketing curtains, make your presence felt. Put a 'voice' to the name. Your name.

We all know that there is a general fear among us towards people we don't know or trust YET. So put yourself out there and let people see that you're a real person.

How do you do this best? How about setting up a simple question and answer section on your site. A place where people can actually bend your ear and ask their questions. There's a few good reasons to do this. One, you show that you are indeed a real person who wants to help others. And two...YOU GET FREE CONTENT FOR YOUR SITE.

That's right, by simply allowing visitors, you can create a never ending source of free content. All you have to do is take the questions and answers and publish them. Can you say blog? I know that you can.

And guess what the search engines love? Blogs. Yes sir, they still do. Engines love blogs because blogs ARE fresh content...and the engines never get enough fresh content. Ever.

It's interesting how many things you can accomplish by opening up a Q & A section on your site. Someone will invariably ask a question that will start new ways for even you to approach your own business.

It's great. I was first exposed to this internet marketing resource tip by someone who owns and operates a COMPETING website. Like I always say, copy success!

The best internet marketing tip you'll ever use involves article marketing. Read that, then read Kevin Browne's HIGHEST RATED opportunity reviews at his new site http://www.become-a-copywriter.com/earnmoneywriting.html

How To Get Cheap Website Traffic - The Bum Marketing Method Explained

Let's face it, you need to get traffic to your website or you will never make a dime from it. The only problem is that most new marketers have no idea how to get cheap website traffic and they also don't have a very large budget. This can make it a bit difficult to get the traffic you need, but not impossible. The bum marketing method is a great way to get not just cheap, but free website traffic. Read on to discover the bum marketing method.

Bum Marketing was created by Travis Sago and is a way that people are making lots of money without spending a single dime. The bum method includes writing article for traffic and turning that traffic into sales. The basic ideas behind bum marketing is to write your articles around a specific keyword phrase so that you can get listed on the search engines. Then, you will get traffic from the search engines and be able to create small traffic machines.

The keyword phrase you target needs to be one that people are using to search and needs to have little competition. This gives you the best chance to get listed on Google and other search engines. The advantage of this is that if you had a large amount of articles out there you could be getting a large amount of cheap website traffic. Cheap meaning that all the traffic costs you is some of your time to write the articles with the bum method.

Imagine if you wrote just one article each day for a year. You would have 365 little traffic machines creating a flood of traffic to your websites. Even if you only got 1 visitor a week from each article you would be getting 365 visits a week. If you convert one out of every 50 into a sale, then you would get about one sale each day. If each sale made you a $30 commission, then you would have created a lasting $210 income each week. Now imagine if you wrote 5 articles a day.

Link Building Strategies

Links are very important in internet marketing as they are basically the way that all of your visitors find you. People do not like to have to remember a domain name, then go and type it into a search bar, they prefer to just click a link and get what they want instantly, this is why building links to your site is very important.

Links not only count for the traffic that finds you through them but also the fact that they improve your search engine rankings. Search engines determine how "popular" a website is by the amount of links pointing to it and the more "popular" your website is, the higher it will rank in the search results.

It is also a good idea to use anchor text for as many links as you can as this will help you rank well for the keywords in that text.

You can use the following strategies for building links to your website:

Writing and submitting articles to directories. You can write and submit articles to article directories and include a link in your author resource box, this will get you a one way link for each directory you submit to and there are hundreds of directories on the internet. You can find these article directories by searching google for them.

Ask other related websites to exchange links with you, this is when you would put a link to their site on yours and they would do the same for you. This is a very popular way of building links and there are many webmasters that openly accept link exchanges, you can also find websites that are made specifically just to help webmasters that want to exchange links meet each other.

Link directories. There are thousands of link directories out there, some are paid and some are free, you can submit your website to them and hope that they will accept it. This is a quick way to get a lot of one way links as all you have to do is search google for "link directories" and then spend some time submitting your website to as many as you want.

Most forums will allow you to include a link to your website with your posts and this can be another quick way to build your links, everytime you make a post on the forum, you gain another link to your website.

Press releases can be effective for gaining a lot of links but it would probably be best to use a paid service for this, your press release will do much better for you if it is written by an experienced copywriter and is submitted using a service that will ensure maximum distribution.

Viral competitions can produce amazing results in very little time if executed well, you should give people an excellent reason to link to you such as a cash prize or a free product and let them know that the more traffic they send you, the more chance they have of winning the prize. This can create a frenzy of people working to send you traffic. You should plan this first to make sure you have a good return on investment and you have all the details worked out.

Powerful Article Marketing - Revealed - 4 Effective Secrets to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

Are you thinking of using article marketing as your advertising tool in promoting your business and marketing your products in the World Wide Web. Well, I'd say you have made a wise decision as it is the most efficient and cost-effective marketing tool in the internet today.

Here are the 4 effective secrets to jumpstart your article marketing:

1. Use striking titles. Your headlines are one of the elements that can either make or break your marketing efforts. These can be your greatest tool in getting online users to open and read your articles. Thus, it is very important that your titles are attention-grabbing, interesting, direct to the point, and communicate the readers' benefits.

2. Content. This is what will be the deciding factor of online users if they will read, pick up, and republish your articles. If your content is well-written, useful, interesting, fact-based, and direct to the point, you can be assured that your articles will be widely distributed.

3. Target market. You also need to make sure that your articles are targeted and relevant to your potential readers' needs. After all, they will be the one who will read your articles so you might as well make your content beneficial for them. If you can consistently do this, your readers will not only support your other articles but also, they will most likely to consider doing business with you.

4. Article submission sites. In writing your articles, you need to consider the rules and terms of service set forth by publishing sites to increase the chances of your articles being posted online. Some of their requirements are the following: your articles must run 300-500 words, they must be free from blatant advertisements and sales pitch, they must not have hyperlinks on the article body, they must not contain inappropriate content, etc.

How To Increase The Number Of Clicks That Your Articles Generate

Most of us write articles to generate clicks from the links that we place in the resource box. The main purpose of this is to either increase traffic to our websites or to interest readers in a product that we are promoting. But how do we realize these goals?

In order to succeed, there are 3 main tasks you must accomplish:

1) Youve got to attract readers. The only real method to attract viewers is with a compelling title. When people are looking for information on a particular subject, they scan through a list of titles. This list may contain several hundred articles. Your title has to grab them and compel them to read your piece. Your title has to jump out at them and draw them in. If youve written a great article full of fascinating information, no one will read it if it has an uninteresting title. All of your work will have been fruitless. Youve got to grab their attention with an intriguing title.

2) Youve got to have a good article. If your article is not well written, or if it contains little information of value, your readers will quickly click away, and again, your work will have been fruitless. For that reason, it is important to write a great article with good information, and a compelling title.

3) The third ingredient for a successful article is a good resource box. Ideally, the information in your article should be related to the links in your resource box. This is extremely important. If your article is about ice fishing in Alaska and your links refer to vacationing in the tropics, you probably wont generate many clicks. Thats because the people who read the article are interested in ice fishing, not sun bathing. However, if your resource box contained links for a travel agency specializing in Alaskan tours, you would probably generate a lot of clicks. Coordinate the information in your resource box with the content of your article. I use a number of different resource boxes, depending on what I am writing about.

If youve done a good job in each of these three areas, your article will achieve very good readership and your links will generate plenty of traffic. If your article is generating good readership, but you are not getting many clicks, it may mean that you need to work on steps 2 or 3 above.

With some of my best articles, over 17% of the readers have clicked on my links. That is a great percentage! On average though, only about 7%-8% of readers will click on a link.

Capturing Email Subscribers With Effective Methods

Getting people to subscribe to your email follow ups is a job in itself and it is quite an important one too, you need to effectively be creative and continuously find new ways of signing up new subscribers, so that they make a sizeable impact and convert to buyers or customers, here I will show you the top ways to get subscribers and the most proven methods that result in success.

One of the best ways is to have a subscriber sign up form on every page of your website, as this presents a step for anyone who may enter your site through any page that they find in the search engines or that they be directed to through the informative content they are reading on the page, you can have your layout be the same on every page so that it is noticeable on every page or you can have it as a link that directs to a sign up form, it's your choice.

Other forms of sign up are pop ups which can be quite effective if they don't appear obtrusive or annoying and they have an attention grabbing message that tells people what they are signing up for, pop ups can be formatted in certain ways so that they appear differently and at differing times, for instance you want people to visit your site and you want people to view your site first for at least five to ten seconds, so that they can gain a first impressions view of the site and then you can set the pop up to appear asking them if they would like to sign up for a newsletter or a tutorial newsletter.

Other things you can offer in your pop ups are free stuff, this will almost certainly boost your sign up rate, because people will sign up just to get the freebies, which could include a valuable report, ebook, download or anything else of value and then following your freebie you could offer to present an email tutorial on whatever the niche you are specializing in, this creates more added value to the subscriber and builds credibility for you.

Displaying your autoresponder address wherever possible is also a good way of getting your online business attracted to more sign ups and capturing further email addresses, so instead of advertising a website link why not include your autoresponder address and funnel people into your follow up sales letters on your websites, this is a sneaky way of capturing email addresses, if you don't have an autoresponder then I recommend you get one as soon as possible as they are quite possibly the best effective weapon for most of your online marketing.

Amazing Article Marketing - 3 Phenomenal Steps to Advance with Article Marketing

If you are reading this article, there is a huge chance that you are already writing and distributing your articles online to promote your products and your website but you can't seem to attract enough search engine traffic. You are also probably looking for ways on how you can advance in this technique not only to popularize your website and augment your sales potential but also to get ahead of the pack.

Well, wait no more. Here are the 3 phenomenal steps to help you advance with article marketing:

1. Carefully choose your topic. Stick with those that can help you drive quality traffic or people who are most likely to make a purchase to your website. By this, I mean if you are selling perfume you can write topics like "how to properly use perfumes", "the importance of perfume", "perfume - the perfect gift for your loved ones", etc. These topics will attract those people who are deeply interested in what you sell. Thus, this can lead not only to increase traffic but improved sales potential as well.

2. Use striking titles. The role of your titles in your article marketing campaign is to grab the attention of online users to increase the chances of your articles being open and read online. Keep this in mind when writing your titles so you can effectively make them more interesting, intriguing, and striking.

3. Consider your target market. Do not forget the needs of your potential audience when writing your content. If you want your readers to fully trust you and consider doing business with you, you must be able to target their needs and wants. Strive to answer their questions or offer solutions to their problems so they will treat your content as valuable and useful to their lives.

Article Marketing And List Building For Success

Out of all the ways to build an opt in list of subscribers, article marketing has to be one of the best. Why is it the best? Actually there are many reasons why article marketing is great for list building. Some of them are:

1 - writing articles doesn't cost you any money. However it does cost you time.

But the good thing is, once you start writing article, you can crank out 10 or more per day. The more articles you write, the more traffic and subscribers you receive.

2 - article marketing builds a very responsive list of subscribers who have already shown interest in your niche.

By taking the time to read your article, click to your web site, enter their name and email address, these people will be more responsive to your offers and emails.

As long as your give them useful information mixed in with great products, your profits will soar.

3 - articles product a sense of trust in the reader. After reading an original article that you've written, it's as though you have personally sat down with the reader and talked with them one on one.

Building trust is a key element in your list building efforts.

If your subscribers do not trust you, they simply will not respond to you or purchase from you.

That is why your articles must be written as if you were simply talking to a friend about your topic. Just like the article you are reading right now.

Don't forget to download my free ebook that'll show how to quickly build a responsive opt in list.

Exactly How To Submit Articles To Get One Way Links

This is a problem we face since the so called Duplicate Content Theory. Article submission to hundreds of websites is no longer effective and also dangerously bad. Is that correct?

When you submit your article to a 100 directories, search engines than find 100 links to your site (in a day) all with same anchor text. They consider this as spam.

But, most often article directories do not approve your articles instantly, some take a day, others a week so you won't get too many links at once. So you can still use a software to submit your articles, and the more you submit the more backlinks you get. That's the great thing. There are no bad side effects by doing this.

Secondly, you should change the anchor text often. Put a keyword in the anchor text.

Here's the best method to get one way links using articles:

1) Create an article.

Then post the article on your blog or website. Your website needs new content create a new page for each article. Then put a link to each of your articles on a page which you may call Articles. Do not link to each of your article pages from your homepage, keep everything well organized both for search engines and your visitors.

2) Wait until the search engines index the page with your article, that way the article is now yours. Search engines now know that you are the owner of the article. To get the page indexed fast you can link to it from the sitemap or from the homepage until it gets indexed, then remove the link.

If your website is brand new, skip this step and do not wait until the article gets indexed before submitting it to article directories.

3) Now you can submit your article to major directories.

Finally contact webmasters that are publishing articles on their website and ask them for a link exchange. This may be the most difficult part, that is why I skip it or work less on it.

You can though use some services or forums where you can swap articles with other webmasters. That is much easier.

4) Check to see if others are using your article on their website without using your bio information. :) This may be a good idea to do, because you can contact them and let them know and at the same time suggest to them your other articles.

Do not worry if people put your articles on their websites without linking to your site. It does happen to all of us, and you waste time struggling with these things. However it's good idea to contact some who posted your articles, and tell them you have more.

Tell them they can also put your other articles on their site. Or better yet, tell them you wish to become an author for their blog or website, so you can post whenever you want.

And you always get a link back to your website from each article. And remember when you post articles in directories add something like this at the end of the article:

CopyRight All rights reserved

That's how article marketing helps you to get one way links. Remember, many theories spread like wildfire, but not all of them are genuine.

Article Marketing - Next Level of Article Marketing

Article marketing is a technique thats been used over the internet for the past few years. Its a very simple technique where you simply write articles to promote your website and submit it to article directories. This is very easy to do, and can gain a huge amount of exposure for whatever it is your promoting.

Then Bum Marketing came along. Its basically article marketing with a punch. You basically optimize the articles that youre writing for a certain long tail keyword. So if you were writing an article about weight loss for example, you might optimize your page the phrase how to lose weight quickly, using the phrase as the title and a few throughout the article.

This would enable you to get your article listed in the search engines as theres a lot less competition for the keyword how to lose weight quickly than there is for weight loss. Used in the right way this can be a very powerful technique.

Today, Bum and Article marketing has become a very popular way to promote products. Affiliates can set up a small page pre-selling the product their promoting, then write articles based around the niche using the bum marketing method. At the end of the article the affiliate can put a small Authors bio that would point to there pre-sales page.

This method has recently been upgraded again. New techniques have pushed Bum marketing methods into overdrive, making it a very easy way to make cash online.

Advanced Article Marketing Secrets - The Dilemma Between Long And Short Articles

I am sure that if you have been using article marketing for some time you would have come across long articles and also short articles. You may be considering which of the two to use.

This is my primary method of traffic generation and I have experimented with both methods. What I have traditionally found is that long articles take up so much space that the reader actually does not see my resource box. In the end he does not end up clicking through to my website and subscribing to my newsletter. So in the end it is very ineffective to build a list.

You may be wondering what to do if you were to have a long 1000 word article. I suggest that in this case you break it up into three parts of approximately 300 words each. Say for example your title is How To Write A Killer Resource Box you would include Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 at the end of the title for each article.

In some cases there may be a use for very long articles. Usually this type will have a lot of expert information condensed. So if you would like to brand your name on the internet you can write one of these and submit them to popular magazines that publish reader's articles for maximum exposure.

However, if you are thinking of building a successful internet business you need to seriously look at building your list and getting loyal customers who buy over and over from you as this is the best way of building a stable business.

I suggest that you focus on 250 to 350 word articles to build your responsive list.

Pay Per Click is Dying - Pay Per Visitor is Tomorrow's Choice

Are you an astute Internet marketer who has been laboriously adding AdSense ads to all of your site pages, hoping that a small percentage of your site visitors will click and make you money? Perhaps you include a few affiliate banners and advertisements for your own products too.

AdSense and affiliate selling have been, and are still popular and many people claim to make excellent livelihoods from them. I've been selling other people's stuff online since 1998 and have generated thousands of dollars income. My AdSense account provides a regular income, but nothing to write home about.

For those who might not be familiar with AdSense, it's a Google program whereby you place Google advertisements aligned with your sites topic on your pages and, when people click on them, you earn Pay Per Click income.

Unfortunately, we Internet marketers cannot set up an income stream and sit back and just wait for it to continue earning income day after day. If for no other reason, the economic law of diminishing returns suggests that eventually we'll reach an income peak and then our income will begin to drop off. When there are millions of html pages in cyberspace with AdSense adverts, the number of total clicks is distributed among a greater number of AdSense clients and therefore, many people get a little bit of income rather than a few people getting a huge income. (There are of course exceptions)

So, what's the solution?

The solution is to diversify and be an early adopter of new technology and methods. By diversifying we can have some small assurance that while some income generating activities are running poorly, others will keep us going. By adopting new technology, we get in early on the first wave of interest from consumers. In some cases, where a multi-level marketing approach is used (unlike with AdSense), it's possible to set up a comfortable residual income that continues flowing in well after the trend has become obsolete or less popular.

The newly emerging marketing technique called Pay Per Page (PPP) is tomorrow's trend and an interesting change from Pay Per Click that requires a conscious action on behalf of a site visitor. With PPP people only have to visit a page for five seconds for site owners to earn money.

How does this work? Simple, website owners place a piece of Javascript on their pages and when someone visits a five second audio advertisement occurs. The audio is only heard once by a visitor. Unlike PPC, PPP does not require a visitor to do anything. A commission is paid for every visitor. Can you see how superior this method is to PPC where only a small percentage of people who visit click on an advertisement?

Another distinct benefit for early adopters is that this program, commencing soon, has a multi-tier payment structure whereby adopters can also receive a part commission based on what their sign-ups earn. Like all multi-level-marketing programs, if you get in on the ground floor, work hard to sign-up a few hundred people, you can generate some healthy income. There are literally thousands of exemplars pointing at the success of this type business model.

Needless to say, this evolving model will eventually succumb to the laws of diminishing returns too, but those of us who are early adopters will have a nice period of high earnings until the next whizz-bang marketing method arrives.

Article Marketing - Having Useful Links Back to You

Do you think article marketing is just about getting links back to your site? At first, this could really be the main purpose of having your articles published to article directories or ezines. But then more than this reason, you should also need to consider many factors.

First, you just do not put in information that is useless to your readers. As much as possible, everything should be helpful to your audience so that they would be able to read up to the end of your article and further more up to the resource box.

Second, write as if you are conversing with a friend. Pure information that are written in a boring mode will surely shun away the traffic you wanted. That link that is provided on your resource box will not serve its purpose if people will not read your boring article. Liven up a bit and be conversational with your article.

Third, use a catchy title. This is the icing of the article. If this icing tastes yummy, then you can expect that the whole cake will be eaten. Your title is the deciding factor. Give your readers the reason to read the entire article.

All of these factors will actually lead to having that link being used by your readers. You need to make sure that your article will be read and would serve its main purpose of advertising your site. With this link, you would get to achieve a profit that you never expected would be the result of article marketing.

Marketing Article - Why Write Marketing Articles?

At this point, I am going to assume that you write articles. So why write marketing articles?

I think that one of the reasons is that people are looking for marketing articles they want to learn how to do marketing, especially online marketing, web marketing, article marketing, etc.

When you write marketing articles and post them online to the various article directories, including the one this one was originally posted to, you gain web traffic via the search engines.

You see, people online search the web, and they generally will read the articles that come up in the top ten results of their search results in the search engine they used. And the big article directories, especially the one that this was originally published on, have the page rank to get your article to the top ten results, especially for 2nd and 3 rd tier and long tailed keywords.

So when you write marketing articles, you get world wide readership and that can mean world wide visitors to your web site. An astonishing number of the people that visit my web site, although I am in the US, are in countries all around the world. Literally all around the world. I think I have subscribers in every continent around the world maybe excluding Antarctica so if you are in Antarctica you know what to do!

Anyhow, write marketing articles, submit them to the top 5 article directories (or at least just the one this one was published first to) and watch the traffic roll in. By the way, you have to write more than 2 or 3!

Marketing Strategies - How to Test Your Advertising!

Once upon a time, only major corporations and Fortune 500 companies took the time to test their advertising. But as small business owners become more savvy-and the cost of advertising continues to rise-testing the effectiveness of ads, whether in print or on the web, is one of those marketing strategies that just makes sense.

First of all, you'll want to determine exactly where you want to spend your hard-earned cash. Think about your target market-i.e., the people with the highest likelihood of being interested in the products or services you're offering. What publications are they reading? What websites are they visiting? Depending on how targeted your market is, trade publications may be an inexpensive option in terms of print advertising, while numerous high-traffic websites are oriented around a specific profession and/or interest that may place its visitors within your target market.

Next, you'll need to design your ads. Whether you work with a graphic designer or have the skills and know-how to do it yourself, creating a range of possible designs is key-because once you have them, you can use them to solicit high-quality input from your friends, colleagues, and employees.

Once you have 5-7 designs in hand, you'll want to get them in front of as many people as possible. Have individuals pick out their top three designs, then hand them a red marker-to mark the things they don't like, on each of those three ads-and a green marker-to mark the things they do.

Once you've used this info to select the 2 or 3 most popular designs (and strengthen them, by addressing the negatives) it's time to submit your ads to the websites/publications you've chosen.

Here's the key, though: always advertise in more than one (roughly equivalent) publication or website, and make sure to include a different contact .url and/or phone number on each ad. (This could simply be a different page off your main website-or, in the case of a phone contact, a number that routes to your main number with a different ring, a service that can be provided by your local phone company.)

That way, you'll actually be able to track the number of impressions you've created with each ad, and the number of actual sales each ad has generated.

Once you've let these ads run for a while-three months is generally considered a minimum amount of time for an effective run-you can compile the results you've received from each ad. If one ad has generated at least 5% more impressions/sales than either of the other two, you've got a clear indication that it's more effective in terms of design and appeal.

You may want to continue advertising in one of the publications/websites that produced lesser results for you-but switch your ad design to the one that produced a higher return, in order to make sure you're getting the most out of your advertising budget.

Testing your advertising is a great way to get a handle on which marketing strategies have the most pull within your target market.

So go ahead-create some great, dynamite advertising, and watch those sales roll in.

The Differences of Free vs Paid Directory Submissions

First a web directory is web site that specializes in finding, categorizing and listing links to other resources on the World Wide Web. Owners of web sites can submit their sites for review and possible inclusion. Those sites are then reviewed for relevancy and site content to determine if the site would have value to the other internet surfers.

By using a Web Directory your site can gain backlinks which are like doorways to your website for traffic to flow. They are also considered votes of quality for search engine rankings which brings additional targeted traffic through search related actions. Web Directory links create unique and topically relevant backlinks to your site.

The thing to note is that all links are not created equal. The fundamental difference in directories is free vs paid. The differences between the two are like night and day or BMW and skateboard.

Free Directory

What you get with free directories are an extremely crowded directory where your link will get lost in a crowd of low quality links, less traffic from the directory due to less visibility, much longer time between submission and acceptance, very time consuming as you typically need to submit to hundreds of these to get the value of one link from a quality paid directory and your listing will typically get placed with listings for low quality spam filled sites.

Let's just face facts, most people start a business to generate revenue and a directory is a business. With directories that allow for free submissions the owners look to generate revenue from the site in other ways and those other ways will decrease the quality of the directory.

One way they generate revenue on free directories is by installing adsense on it. Those adsense advertisements compete with the listings on the directory for the visitor traffic and decrease the value of a link in the directory.

The other common way to generate revenue for a free directory is to sell advertising space on it. The idea being to use the lure of a low quality free link on the directory to draw traffic in to see the paid advertisements like site wide sponsored links, site featured links, site wide footer links, site wide partner links and they can call them other things also. Such as our network, friends and the list goes on.

The fact is that search engines devalue web sites that sell placement of site wide links on them and that severely limits the value of a listing on those directories.

Pay for Review Directory

Some of the things which a pay for review directory will bring you and that you should look for are a directory that is maintained by professionals, rich in content with articles and quality resources/listings, unique design with additional features such as deep linking options, quick review times usually 24 to 48 hours and a directory that is focused on providing a destination resource for visitors which generates traffic.

The focus to be a destination resource is easily spotted by features and content. Does the directory provide something in addition to a place to submit links? Is there a blog with content in it? Are there articles posted within the directory category structure? Are there other features that are just there for visitor's enjoyment such as an art gallery?

In addition there should not be any site wide links for sponsors, there should not be distracting/traffic bleeding adsense. A link from a quality paid directory has more value than free links. They are seen as a higher quality endorsement of the sites listed there. It is our hope that this will help you identify a directory that is worth submitting to from one that is not.

The Authority Web Directory is a vital resource in every online-marketing campaign. Begin your link building effort there, and check for additional resources amongst our listings in the Authority Directory of Directories section.

Article Marketing - How to Use Article Marketing to Get Prospects to Come to You

The way I do it is with article marketing combined with list building. Now, the beautiful thing about article marketing, is that I don't have to go where they hang out. All I have to do is write articles that make sense to them. Upload them to the article directories, and then the article directories because of their own high search engine ranking ability, their high pay rank, the article directories themselves will get my articles where people hang out.

Not necessarily where people hang out but where people look. So for example if somebody's looking for information about natural health, let's say somebody's looking for information about natural health, I'm into natural health. Well, I can go about this 2 different ways, number 1 I can go hang out on all the natural health forums and the natural health blogs, and all of that. I can kind of hope I can pick up some visitors. Or I can write natural health articles, I can submit them to the online article directories.

The online article directories have the page rank to get me ranked high in the search engines, and then what happens is when somebody goes in and they search for a term like natural health or alternative health or natural health for my knee, or whatever they're thinking about, natural health, for example, then my article is going to come up really really high. So I'm not going to necessarily get them where they hang out, but I'm going to get them when they're looking for information.
