Relationship marketing is important to search engine optimisation. We are all tired of being advertised to. Do not be taken in by the usual rubbish of "make $10 000 a week immediately". You do not have to do any work and they will make you rich. The usual lie that has given this wonderful world of internet marketing and search engine optimisation a bad name and left many people with the wrong idea and has left many people disappointed and broke.

You will notice that there is a certain common trend on the internet. A person will join a program. The reason they joined the program is that maybe their neighbour or network marketing friend asked them to join. This person would produce the usual hype of getting into the program as quickly as possible because they and that person will make a lot of money. The person joins the program and they are given a replicated website. This is the first mistake from a search engine optimisation standpoint.

They punch in the person's name, email address and phone number on that website and the person thinks that the money will now start rolling in. This will never happen as that person does not have a clue about the network marketing and internet world. Also, from an SEO perspective, that replicated website is dead and will not be seen by the search engine spiders on the internet. That person does not know where to start, at all. The point is, do you know exactly what your program is about? You will be surprised as to how many people join programs and who do not have the faintest idea as to what their program involves or how it works.

This is obviously so wrong and lacks common sense, amongst other basic instincts. If you do not belong to a program that you believe in and that has a good product or service, you are wasting your time and money. Do not even bother starting a search engine optimisation marketing campaign to promote that product, service or website. The replicated websites that most of these programs have are dead. They leave it up to you to advertise and advertising on the internet is dead and does not work.

Most of us write articles to generate clicks from the links that we place in the resource box. The main purpose of this is to either increase traffic to our websites or to interest readers in a product that we are promoting. But how do we realize these goals?

In order to succeed, there are 3 main tasks you must accomplish:

1) Youve got to attract readers. The only real method to attract viewers is with a compelling title. When people are looking for information on a particular subject, they scan through a list of titles. This list may contain several hundred articles. Your title has to grab them and compel them to read your piece. Your title has to jump out at them and draw them in. If youve written a great article full of fascinating information, no one will read it if it has an uninteresting title. All of your work will have been fruitless. Youve got to grab their attention with an intriguing title.

2) Youve got to have a good article. If your article is not well written, or if it contains little information of value, your readers will quickly click away, and again, your work will have been fruitless. For that reason, it is important to write a great article with good information, and a compelling title.

3) The third ingredient for a successful article is a good resource box. Ideally, the information in your article should be related to the links in your resource box. This is extremely important. If your article is about ice fishing in Alaska and your links refer to vacationing in the tropics, you probably wont generate many clicks. Thats because the people who read the article are interested in ice fishing, not sun bathing. However, if your resource box contained links for a travel agency specializing in Alaskan tours, you would probably generate a lot of clicks. Coordinate the information in your resource box with the content of your article. I use a number of different resource boxes, depending on what I am writing about.

If youve done a good job in each of these three areas, your article will achieve very good readership and your links will generate plenty of traffic. If your article is generating good readership, but you are not getting many clicks, it may mean that you need to work on steps 2 or 3 above.

With some of my best articles, over 17% of the readers have clicked on my links. That is a great percentage! On average though, only about 7%-8% of readers will click on a link.

These days, syndicating your articles is one of the most effective means in bringing quality traffic to your site while you establish your expertise on your field. Though this technique is widely used by most marketers, there are still some methods that were left unexplored. These latest fresh methods can help you energize your article marketing campaigns:

1. Get your article published on Google News. Find websites that are syndicated by Google News and apply as a contributor. Once accepted, you will be allowed to publish your articles together with your photos on websites that are syndicated by Google. Your article will be made available to millions of Google news subscribers that can result to huge traffic to your site.

2. Syndicate your articles through blogs and RSS feeds. Most blogs these days produces RSS feed that you can conveniently use to provide your subscribers with fresh content. To make this work even better for you, add your RSS feed on your website where your article headlines will be posted. Once these are clicked by online users, they will be taken to your blog to read the full articles.

3. Write for other website. Yes, you heard it right. If you offer websites that has enormous traffic with articles that will be exclusively published on their site, you can make a big deal of creating a link back to your site. Imagine attracting a huge number of visitors to access your site through the use of your quality articles, it will indeed worth it.

4. Turn your articles to podcasts. Who said you can only submit your articles to article submission sites? With the birth of podcasting, you can record and convert 2-3 related articles to audio file. You can then submit this audio file to podcast directories that include Yahoo!, Odeo, iTunes, etc.

Make your website assessable and pull them in for the sale. Provide several ways for them to contact you and/or purchase your product.

By implementing this B.I.A.S. Marketing strategy your target prospects will come, purchase and return. You will achieve your ultimate business objective of gaining loyal customers and creating profitable relationships.
