2007 Mangled Online Articles and Google Search Engine

Some would be website owners enjoy the syndication of online articles and gleefully post these articles on their websites. Then they put up Google Adsense advertisements and immediately start collecting trickle payments.

However a problem has arisen where these website owners use programs to collect articles and then post them on their websites, which is a good idea, unless they program mangles the articles, which is what is happening now. Further the website owners who do this do not care to fix the problem because they know if Internet Readers do not enjoy the mangled articles then they are five times as likely to click on a link to go somewhere else.

If the Internet Surfer clicks on an AdSense Ad the website owner wins monetarily and therefore builds more websites with more botched and mangled articles on it. It would be nice if the "Google-Ologists" re-develop their spider programs and algorithms to remove these types of sites from the first 10 pages of their search returns, as that would certainly dampen these perpetrators.

As I study the various types of search engines and their techniques it is too bad sometimes that Google has such a large percentage of the market, as other search engines often provide better results for the user. But it is all about marketing for Google. And with their research department, I cannot believe that they are not looking into this, but the slowness to respond is bothersome and telling of a future bureaucracy.

I would imagine that riding the next peak of Googles stock would be wise, but then selling it all, as it moves up quickly, because if this continues and Google does not adapt to the new climate and environment of these scam type Google Adsense manipulators then all will be lost.

Of course in saying that; Shareholders Equity and Quarterly Profits are indeed a driver for stock price and if Google gets rid of these sites in the top tier search return pages then, they will temporarily lose profits in that quarter.

Catch-22 for them, although really and this is just in my opinion both the Internet and Google are at risk long-term if they do not. So this is a time for Wiki-Search, Ask.com, Yahoo, MSN, etc to go for it and make hey and capture marketshare while Google attempts to hold up this impossible stock price.

And to that point and for anyone who does not remember the DotCom crash, well lets just say that their personal stock portfolios are doomed during the repeat, even if the scenario is only a dip for the over all Internet Stocks, it may not be for Google. Just thinking outloud and watching the Road Ahead, which looks more like a runway if some other company can capitalize on the failure of Google to right this problem. I hope this article propels thought in 2007 and is of interest to you?

5 Essential Strategies to Make Online Selling Easier

One very common mistake that online service professionals make is providing endless information on their website, blog, or ezine without asking for anything in return (i.e. selling a product or service). Now, that doesn't really make much sense, does it? How do you stay in business if you don't have any sales?

I have had clients who simply like to have their products sit obscurely for sale on their websites and do little to make their list members or website visitors aware of what they have for sale for fear of offending their visitors or subscribers. If someone is going to be offended because you're trying to sell to them, then just let them go. You don't need a list of tire-kickers who want to sponge all the free info that they can from you and never buy anything -- you'll never be able to stay in business that way.

Why don't service professionals want to sell? I think there are 3 basic reasons:
1. They are uncomfortable with the process (self-esteem issues tied to not believing in themselves or their product or service) and never ask for the sale.
2. They believe the members of their contact list will revolt if they receive any sales messages.
3. They don't possess a "sales mindset."

I have to chuckle when I do a promotion and get an email from someone on the list who chastises me for "daring" to sell to them and notes that they much prefer to "decide" when they want to buy something from me and then they threaten to leave the list. I just respond that I'm sorry that they feel that way, but unfortunately I'm not a trust-fund baby, and that my hard-earned information has the same value as any info that they might get from their car mechanic, doctor, attorney, or accountant, and I've never seen any of those professionals give away what they know. Unfortunately, when you own an online business, you have to educate your target market that you have to charge for information.

I've come to discover that what's missing in many online business owners is a sales mentality. Creating a sales mentality means that you need to acknowledge that you're in business to make money through selling and that your customers need to become accustomed to having you sell and seeing things for sale all over your websites. Sounds simple, right?

What does an online business owner need to do to foster his/her own sales mentality? Here are 5 strategies to make online selling easier:

1. Acknowledge that selling is integral to your business. Sales isn't a dirty word. How you perceive selling, however, might be. Many online business owners think, "I'm a [fill in industry here], not a salesperson. I need to hire someone to sell for me." Fact is, YOU are really your own best sales person. If you don't believe in the value of what you offer, why will anyone else? In order to make a living, others must know about and buy what you're offering. They're only able to do this is you have a process by which you educate them to give you money for your expertise.

2. Get your list accustomed to seeing sales pitches from you. When's the last time you sent a promotional email to your list? Online business owners need to send at least 2 solo promotional emails a month to their list in order to remain "top of mind" for a specific problem held by their target market. Don't overuse this tactic, however. I've seen service professionals email their lists 4-6 times per week, causing email fatigue with the recipients, who decide that they don't want any more emails from that person and opt off that list. I limit myself to one weekly email that is my ezine, which contains promotional material, as well as one promotional email when I'm running a sales special or am holding a special event.

3. Ensure that your marketing materials tell prospects how to buy. Make it as easy as possible for your contact list to buy from you. If you're selling information products, make the "buy now" button readily apparent on your sales pages. If you're selling a service, give your target market several options to contact you to buy your service -- by email, voice mail, instant message, etc.

4. Incorporate the "law of attraction" into your sales mentality. A sales mentality doesn't have to equate to slimy. I think one of the most attractive ways to sell yourself is by sharing your knowledge and expertise with your target market. As a matter of fact, I'm often told that this is one of the reasons people seek me out to hire me -- I don't hide what I know and am willing to share freely, within reason, of course. I think of selling as helping my prospects solve their problems, and my enthusiasm is evident as we start to brainstorm and dissect how to rid them of a particular problem. Let your enthusiasm for problem-solving serve as your attraction mechanism for new clients.

5. Show your prices. Many service business owners won't list their pricing or fee structure anywhere on marketing materials because they feel it's necessary to "sell" themselves on how wonderful they are via a 1:1 conversation before discussing money. I don't really want to work that hard. I'd rather prospects come to me fully informed about all aspects of working with me. Be open and transparent with your pricing -- don't make prospects jump through hoops to ascertain if they can afford to hire you. I use my fees as a screening device -- those who can't afford my rates won't call, and those who can afford the rate know exactly how much they will spend. Consequently, when people call me to hire me, the first thing they say is, "When can we start working together?" Now, wouldn't you rather have that type of conversation with a prospect?

A sound sales mentality is necessary for success in any business. Make sure that you're educating your target market about how to buy from you.

Your Get Clients Online Assignment: Take a moment to assess your website, your blog, your ezine, and other marketing materials. Is it easy to purchase from you? Is it clear that you have a product or service for sale? If not, start incorporating the above suggestions today and see how much your sales increase.

Productive Article Marketing - Discover 4 Amazing Secrets to Breakthrough with Article Marketing

The process of writing and publishing articles online is currently the most profitable way to make money over the World Wide Web. This effective promotional tool, which is commonly referred to as article marketing, is proven to easily augment website's traffic and help marketers earn the trust of their potential customers as they can showcase their expertise through their article content.

Here are the 4 amazing secrets to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Use effective titles. Your titles can either make or break your article marketing campaign. If they are well-written and attention-grabbing, your articles will surely get the exposure they need as they will be more likely to be opened, read, and widely republished.

2. Your articles must be informative. Make your readers happy by filling up your articles with valuable information that are targeted to their needs and demands. Never leave any stone unturned and strive to dig deeper so you can give your potential clients more in-depth side of your stories.

3. Lay down your objectives. When you know your goals in writing and distributing your articles online, adjusting your marketing efforts and techniques will become a lot easier. For instance, if you would like to drive more traffic to your website you must be willing to multiply the number of your articles to increase your inbound links.

4. Make your resource box compelling. I can't still believe that there are marketers who are not taking their time in creating their resource box. Some of them are just leaving their websites' URL. If you aim to improve your conversation rate, this is not the way to go. You must make your resource box enticing and interesting to compel more people to check on your website.

SEO Tips - 3 Steps to SEO Made Easy (Part 1)

"SEO Made Easy". Most of us want our site or blog to rank high in the search results on Search Engines like Google or Yahoo for our chosen keywords. We want lot's of relevant visitors to our site, and we can provide them great value, and ultimately, increase our blog monetization.

It's all about relevance here... We want Google or Yahoo to "decide" what our web page is all about, accurately and relevantly (is that a valid word ;-) ), and return our site as results ON THE 1ST PAGE preferably to users that search the keywords and phrases relevant to our site!

So, let's see how we can improve our SEO... and hopefully, I can make it easy for you. Let's start:

Step #1 - Choose Your Keyword

When we are writing a post, choosing your keyword may look like a simple step, but choosing the right keywords would mean whether your post is on the 1st page in Google or in page 101 or worse appear in the most irrelevant pages. Let's do it right... consider the questions:

How popular are the keywords or phrases?

In other words, how many times do people search for this keyword? Generally, if no one (or very few people) is searching for a keyword, it's not as valuable. We should aim for keywords with a count of above 5000 for the past month. Do not bother about keywords below 5000. You can go to http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion for your keywords.

How competitive are the words?

How many other sites are trying to rank for the same keywords. Generally, the more competition there is for a keyword, the harder it is going to be to rank for it. Let's look for competition less than 5 million and going under 3 million is best due to less competition. Check the number of Google results for the keywords at the top left corner of Google. Results 1 - 10 of about 5,000,000 for means that there are 5 million competing websites with the searched keyword.

It's best if you can find words that are popular with less competition. That is why it pays to spend a lot of time in researching your keywords. You will be surprised at the untapped gems or niches that you may find.

Step #2 - On-Page Optimization

Now you have your keywords, how to optimize them on your blog post or web page?

  1. Page or Post Title This is most important as users look at it to know instantly what a page is about. The title is used in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). If you want a high click-thru rate, try putting together a page title that is CATCHY but at the same time relevant to your post.An example: "Atomic Blogging - The inside and out of atomic blogging." The main keyword is [atomic blogging]. Its a good title because the main keyword is repeated once as the first phrase, and once later in the sentence. Try doubling your keywords and get good results in Google.
  2. Body Text You want to keep paragraphs short (short paragraphs help hold the attention of readers). Use your keyword as much as you can... especially in the first 20 words of your post. However, don't overuse your keyword as it may result in an Over Optimization Penalty (OOP).
  3. First Sentence of the Body Text Use your keyword somewhere in the first sentence of the body text. This reinforces to the search engine the fact that the keyword is important.
  4. URL/ File Name If your page is about "Atomic Blogging", then you would name the page atomic-blogging.html. Always make sure to use a hyphen "-" and not an underscore "_" (most search engines have a hard time with underscores). Do not even think about using a space.
  5. Meta Tags (Meta Description and Meta Keywords) Meta tags are located in the tags. They are invisible to users, and are used strictly by some search engines. - Meta Description: A descriptive sentence that describes your page. Make sure to use your keyword. - Meta Keywords: Include a list of keywords. The best way is to write your body text, and then select keywords from that text.

Experiment with the above. It's not a exhaustive list of things that you can do to improve your SEO, but it's essential.

Article Marketing for the Purpose of Driving Traffic

When you are using article marketing for the purpose of driving traffic, you are instead going to submit a large number of original articles to a small number of article directories. Generally, you should submit each article to the top 5 or 6 article directories, based on the traffic level and pagerank of the article directories. This will allow you to gain maximum exposure to actual visitors, but will not create as many links into your web site.

This method relies on the pagerank and traffic of the article directories themselves to get traffic to your web site, rather than creating high search engine rankings for your own web site. One advantage to this method is that you do not have to wait for your web site to slowly climb from a pagerank of 0 to a pagerank of 6 or 7 to get traffic, you can simply get traffic from the article directories themselves.

The disadvantage to this method is that the bulk of your traffic will be dependent on the traffic of the article directories. If the article directories themselves were to go out of business, or the search engines were to delist or ban the article directories, then you would not be getting traffic whereas if you had built multiple inbound links and natural search engine traffic, you would not be impacted as strongly if a few of the article directories went out of business.

Once again, I am hesitant to answer the question, how many articles do I need to write? I think the question should be, how many articles can I write?. At the time of this writing, I have written over 1200 articles, and am actively writing and submitting more. At what point do I stop? I have every reason to believe that when I have 2400 articles I will have more traffic than I do now with 1200 articlesand of course, there will still be room to grow from there.

I can tell you this, if you have the attitude that you are just going to write a few articles and see what happens, you will be surely disappointed. A few articles will tell you nothing. You could get a few subscribers, or you could get hundreds of subscribers, but neither scenario will give you an idea of how well you will do long run in article marketing.

You see, with article marketing, each month you are adding articles to your store of online content. What this means is that each month there are more opportunities for people to find, read, and click through from your articles. To visualize this, imagine that you submit 100 articles per month for one year. Do you think you will get more traffic in the 12th month than in the first month, or the third month? Of course you will, because you will have more articles for people to read. You cannot simply think that you get so much traffic if you submit 100 articles this month because next month you will have all of this months articles online, plus the new ones you write and submit. And of course that continues to be cumulative through each month.

Website Traffic - Why Article Marketing Blows Away Pay-Per-Click Marketing

It's always great to compare traffic generation strategies because you can tell which strategy is giving you results and which isn't. Or maybe both strategies may be giving you results but you want to know which is more effective in generating qualified prospects.

Two of the most popular traffic generation methods online today are article marketing and pay-per-click marketing. This article won't talk about what both methods are (there are already tons of articles on that) but will compare the two to see which strategy you should invest your efforts in.

Personally, for me, article marketing blows pay-per-click marketing out of the water. Pay-per-click marketing consists of Google's Adwords and Yahoo's Search Marketing, so that's no small statement I'm making. Well, there's a reason why I say article marketing is more effective.

Let's say that you spend $10 a day on Adwords. That's $300 a month. Now take that $300 and spend it on 100 articles written by a freelancer. Those 100 articles will bring you traffic for a long time, whereas your Adwords traffic was a temporary thing. And prospects generated from articles are way more responsive!

You'll often people willing to spend crazy amounts for cost per click on Adwords, but you won't find that many 'insane' competitors in article marketing. Although the competition has grown massively in recent years, it is still nothing compared to pay-per-click marketing.

And that's why I say article marketing trumps over Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, or any other pay-per-click network. If you don't want to write, outsource your articles. You'll see some terrific results from this marketing strategy if you do it right.

Secret Steps to Increasing Your Article Page Views

Because I write a lot of articles, I do quite a bit of research. I try to read as much as I can in the field of article marketing because it is how I make my living. Im also very good about keeping records. I take notes on articles and keep records on how my articles perform. Each day, I log the page views, number of Ezines published, and URL clicks. By keeping track of these details, I can see which articles are working for me and which ones are not.

The quality of an article really has little to do with the number of page views generated. It is the title that initially draws in your readers. Your title is the advertising for your article. Always be mindful of that, you need a title that compels people to read your article. Spending time coming up with a good title is time well spent. A good title will draw in four to five times the readers as the same article with a so-so title.

Certain words or phrases tend to attract readers:

Secret It appears that everybody likes a secret. My secret articles get four times the readers of my non-secret articles. Whenever possible, try to use the word Secret in your title.

3 Steps, 3 ways to It appears that people are looking for articles that provide step-by-step instructions. My step-by-step articles have generated twice the page views of the average article over the same periods of time.

Of course, there are many other words and phrases that attract readers, but, Ill cover them in other articles.

There is another point that I want to make. One of the Ezines published research on article readership some time ago. They indicated that longer titles trend to attract more page views. This is the exact opposite of what I would have expected. I thought that a short and concise title would get better numbers, but apparently, this is not the case. Whenever possible, use a longer, more descriptive title.

I used this information to craft the title for this article. I wondered what kind of page views I would generate if I used a rather long title, with the words Secret, and Steps. Ill let you know how this works out in a future article.

Article Marketing 101 for Businesses

Article marketing is one of the most effective forms of online advertising. The term speaks for itself. It is basically combining marketing with articles. An article packed with tons of useful information would be well read by lots of people, and possibly your potential customers. It also presents you, the face behind the article as an expert with credibility in the topic of the article. Business owners who have not been using article marketing to promote their businesses are missing out on sales and business growth.

What goes into article marketing that makes it such a powerful marketing technique?

We will have a walkthrough on the entire process of article marketing so that by the end of it, you have the necessary knowledge to employ this for your business.

An article should ideally be at least 400 words long. Search engines used to love articles that have 300-word length, but it appears to have changed its taste. Once you know what topic you are writing about, decide on the outline of articles. The strategy is to single out a main subject such as a vacation in Hawaii, and then develop sub-topics such as how to find the cheapest airfare and accommodation and the fun activities you can do there. With an outline, you can then elaborate more on each sub-topic to develop the content. Stay on topic and do not venture to other unrelated stuff. Sprinkle the relevant keywords 5 or 6 times throughout the article.

The one most important thing to do in article marketing is to include the resource box or author box at the end of your article. This resource box allows you to introduce yourself and your business. You are also given the opportunity to list your website link. Readers who read your article will find the link and follow it to your website. This is how it drives traffic and visitors to your website.

Do not worry if you do not write well. You can still use article marketing as your promotion strategy. There are always ghostwriters who are willing to write quality articles for low fees. $5 an article is reasonable. Check out Scriptlance, Elance and RentaCoder etc.

Once you are done with article writing, you are halfway in your article marketing process. You need to now submit your article to article directories. There are hundreds to thousands of article directories that would accept your article for free such as EzineArticles, SearchWarp and GoArticles to name a few. Of course there are some that requires payment as well. But submitting to these free ones is good enough for your article marketing efforts. But make sure that you submit to at least 100 200 of them for maximum exposure.

As you do that, something is happening behind the scene. Readers looking for information either at the directories or search engines will find your articles. If the articles are well written, informative and entertaining, they would be enticed to click on the resource box link to your website. So, you now have targeted visitors at your website, and there is a probability that the visitors would become your customers.

Your articles may be selected by online or printed publications or press release companies for publishing. Your article marketing initiative would be richly rewarded when readers of these companies get to see your products and services.

Another advantage of article marketing is that many websites in the same or similar niche as yours are hungry for content. The webmasters would prowl the article directories for new fresh content and when they pick up your articles for publishing on their websites. Your business can enjoy much better visibility since you get a big pie of their traffic. Targeted traffic is it.

I forgot to mention about two big pluses of article marketing. While your articles get read, simultaneously, your website is linked from article directories and websites. The links are all one-way backlinks, the most valuable in the eyes of search engines. Some of these sites have high Google PageRank and therefore would transfer some of that to your website. In short, you are ahead of those who are paying through their nose for high PR link partners. You get them free and rank in the search engines higher and faster. Again, more traffic is on the way.

Search engine spiders hang out at article directories and would find your website link and index them quickly, sometimes within the same day. Being indexed can take weeks or even months but you have shortcut that using article marketing.

That is it. The essence of article marketing wrapped in a few hundred words. Give it a go and enjoy the benefits and profit potential article marketing can do for your website.

How To Promote With Article Marketing

Getting traffic to your website or blog is the only way to make it pay, but not everyone who launches a website or blog has the money to spend on promotion. Good news. There's a promotional method that really works for attracting site or blog traffic and it's free, free, free. It's called article marketing and it is a sure way of raising a site's profile.

Step 1: Find An Article Directory

To get started, find a suitable article directory. Article directories are sites that have hundreds and thousands of articles and there are new ones emerging every day. Some are all-purpose, covering everything from family issues to healthcare, while others have a niche, such as computer advice or art. All of them are hungry for content.

With so many to pick from, choosing an article directory can be a minefield. To make it easier, look at the directory to see:

  • how many authors there are - if only a handful, forget it and move on.
  • how many articles there are - ditto; come back when they've got some content
  • can the site be found on Google, Yahoo or MSN - if you can't find many links to the site, then no-one will find your articles either.
One of the best and most effective article directories I have used is EzineArticles.com. EzineArticles is easy to use and articles published on the site appear in the search engines very quickly.

Step 2: Start Writing

Once you've decided on the right article directory or directories, write an article. Bloggers will find that blog posts are a good starting point for a web article. If you're not a writer, there are plenty of writers who will whip up an article for a few dollars. Some will even help you get it published. The article you write or commission can be about almost anything related to the site, blog or business you are promoting. The ideal article should be short (say 300-600 words) and error-free, so remember to proofread and spell check.

Many article directories vet articles before publishing. Stick to the guidelines that are published on every site and approval should be a formality. Most article directories prohibit self-promotion in the body of the article. Direct promotion of a site, blog or business is reserved for the resource box.

Step 3: Work That Resource Box

The resource box is where article writers can put all the self-promotional information. Readers who have found the article useful are likely to click on the links to see what else a site, blog or business has to offer. Article directories typically allow up to three links in the resource box. A good resource box has the name of the writer or the person being promoted, the name of the business and the keywords that the site or business owner would like to promote. See the resource box at the end of this article for an example. Other resource boxes may link to a sales letter page (with the product name highlighted) and include a short elevator pitch and call to action.

Step 4: Submit Like Crazy

Once the article has been submitted to the directories the site owner has chosen, it's time to move the strategy to the next level. Article submission services extend the potential reach of an article, giving another opportunity to boost traffic. Like many article directories, article submission services allow people to upload articles for approval. Once the articles are approved, these services send them out to article directories, article groups, ezine publishers and website owners to be considered for publication. Two options for article submission are Article Marketer, which has free and paid options and Isnare, which is a paid service. There are also free and commercial programs to automate article submission.

Pros And Cons Of Article Marketing

The big question, of course, is whether submitting articles to hundreds of directories counts as duplicate content. It's hard to tell. Some of them end up in the sandbox after a while; others don't. Staggering submissions is a good way to avoid this. However, in my opinion, the advantages outweigh the potential disadvantages. With article marketing, sites can receive hundreds of inbound links in only a few days or weeks and thousands of people will be visiting the site that's being promoted. That can't be bad, can it?

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Announcing 6 Must-Have Secrets to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

Do you want to start your article marketing efforts with a bang? These 6 must-have secrets can help you do just that.

1. Choose your topics. When writing your articles for your article marketing campaign, you have to consider these things: they must be relevant to your target niche, useful to your potential clients, and related to the products you are selling. The idea behind this is to write articles that can attract the right kind of people - those who are most likely to buy from you.

2. Register on leading article submission sites. Most publishers will not allow you to submit your articles unless you create an account with their submission sites. While you're at it, read carefully and understand the terms of service set form by each site. This can help you create articles that conform to their standards so you lessen the chances of your articles being rejected.

3. Multiply your articles. In article marketing, the more articles you produce, the more traffic will be diverted to your website. Strive to produce at least 5-7 articles per day to obtain enough quality inbound links to popularize your website and strengthen your online presence.

4. Optimize your content. Search engines are major considerations when marketing your articles online. They are your greatest tool in connecting to your target market through the use of keywords and search terms.

5. Never use spinning software. Some marketers who are aiming at obtaining more quality inbound links resort to spinning software. While these tools can help you re-write your existing articles quickly, they cannot guarantee the quality.

6. Your articles must be concise. Every word that you use on your articles must have direct impact on your target market or helps you to better explain your ideas. If they don't, they are considered fillers.

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Revealed - 3 Fresh Secrets to Improve Your Article Marketing

If you have been in the internet for quite sometime, you probably know that article marketing is dominating the World Wide Web. Millions of webmasters from all sides of the world are using this technique to either popularize their website or promote their products and services.

As more and more people are taking advantage of this impressive marketing method, the competition in getting the attention of online users has grown stiffer. As a marketer, you must device mechanisms on how you can constantly improve your article marketing strategies so your articles will stand out above the rest.

Here are the 3 fresh secrets to improve your article marketing:

1. Titles. The competition begins when online users search for your targeted keywords. When they search content using search engines, they will be presented with numerous articles that are related to the keywords they have keyed in. To give your articles an edge, you must give them titles that are keyword-rich. This will help them get better placement on search page results. However, it not enough that your titles are keyword-rich, they must also be appealing so online users will be enticed to read your articles. Consider your titles as baits that must attract online users at first glance. Let them know what is in store for them when they read your content.

2. Content. Once you have successfully grabbed the attention of online users through your titles, learn how to sustain that attention by making your articles content-rich. Provide the information that your readers are looking for so they will be glued on your article. Keep your content short, concise, and direct to the point by presenting the most important information upfront.

3. Resource box. This is the element that you would like to focus on if you would like to improve your conversion rate. Make it powerful and compelling so it can effectively move your readers to click on your website's URL.

Affiliate Article Marketing And You

Affiliate article marketing is your chance to distinguish yourself from all of the other affiliates for the same product or service.

Writing articles about the products or services you represent as an affiliate gives you the chance to create a certain amount of trust with your prospect. A well written piece that is informative provides information about your professionalism and the product you are representing.

If you do not respect your reader and give them an article that has poor grammar, spelling mistakes and NO valuable information about the product or service, you have lost ANY chance at getting the reader to either finish reading your article or clicking through for more information.

* Honest product reviews on the products you represent are always welcome.
* Videos showing how the product works are priceless, especially if they are of a REAL user and not a commercially made advertisement.
* The consumer wants to be ensured that their problems are going to be solved so itemizing the benefits of the product that are NOT listed on the product sales page or in commercials helps create credibility.

The affiliate articles you write are your chance to sell without selling.

You do this by capturing their interest with the title, building on that interest with the first paragraph, create a desire in them for more information with the body text then give them a call to action at the end where they can have the desire for more information sated.

There are going to be a LOT of other affiliates for the product you represent and not all of them do affiliate article marketing. Some may dabble at it but aren't willing to put themselves, their personality and their personal integrity into their business.

Take the time to know and understand your product before you write your first affiliate marketing article and you will be separating yourself from the herd. Be honest and find a marketing approach that differs from others and you'll be exploiting a niche within that market.

The bottom line is always respect the reader, respect yourself and be a prolific writer if you want to win the affiliate article marketing war with other affiliates in your niche.

Most webmasters are using it not just because its free but more importantly, because it delivers great results. From increased page views to improved page ranking, to increased sales potential to improved revenue and more.

Here are the 3 intermediate secrets to multiply your article marketing:

1. Build up your products. Although most publishers will not allow you to pitch in your products in your articles, you can still create a need for them in a subtle way. How? If you are selling educational plans, you can write about "Education - the best gift you can give to your children", "How to secure a bright future for your children", "Educational plans - what they can do for you and your loved ones", etc. These topics will give more value to your offerings and make your readers realize that your product is a must-have.

That can only happen if you are able to offer them information that they will find useful and valuable to their lives. Strive to provide answer to the questions that bother your readers, offer sound solutions to their pressing issues, and provide information that will help them better understand their current situation. When you do, they will treat you as someone who is genuinely interested in helping them and not just a random marketer who is just after their money.

3. Write for search engines. You would want your readers to easily find you content online, correct? Thus, you must know how to properly optimize your articles by using relevant keywords all through out your content.

How to Better Optimize your Search Engine

When people talk about Search Engine Optimization they immediately associate this with getting high ranks with the most popular search engines in the Internet arena Google and Yahoo. While it is true that Google and Yahoo stand the strongest position in giving the website ranking, getting an optimized search engine would also mean that you satisfy the readers needs. To arrive at a satisfying end-result, the following tips may be used.

Create a top caliber site with contents that are informative, relevant, and up to date. Make sure that you essentially give to your readers what they are looking for as information without compromising the quality of your web site. With these characteristics in mind, there is a guaranteed assurance of an optimized search engine on.

To attain high ranks, you may want to engage in submitting your site to some directories. While the submission process is relatively tedious and lengthy, the end result is seemingly effective.

Allow inbound links on your site. By allowing other sites to embed their links onto your site, it only means that these site owners trust so much on your website and that they rely also on your website for their sites to generate traffic and eventually earn a good ranking from search engines.

Create articles that will be directly embedded on your own site. When this is effectively done, directories can actually capture your site to having a great content of linked articles, thereby facilitating more traffic on your site.

What Does the Proposed Purchase of Yahoo by Microsoft Mean for SEO?

The big news in the world wide web is the proposed purchase of Yahoo by Microsoft for a stunningly large amount of money. If you consider obtaining organic search engine rankings part of your marketing, the question is what this means to you.

44 billion dollars. Any way you cut it, that is a lot of mulla. If the deal falls through, it appears that Microsoft could seriously consider buying a few states. Regardless, this must be a huge event for the web with so much money on the line, right? Yes and no.

There is little secret that the efforts of Microsoft on the web have pretty much met with bleak results. The MSN Live search engine is weak and the total traffic controlled is miniscule compared to Google and even Yahoo. In short, this deal should be viewed as a "if you can't beat them, buy them" effort by Microsoft. Yahoo may be losing out to Google, but it is still a much stronger presence than Microsoft on the web. The question, of course, is will a combined effort do anything to slow Google down? Your guess is as good as mine, but I doubt it.

From an SEO point of view, there proposed purchase means little. If Microsoft was able to finalize the purchase tomorrow and take over Yahoo, it would take probably a year or two before we noticed any significant changes. As you can probably guess, the deal is going to take much longer to get through regulatory agencies and the like, so three to five years is a more likelihood for seeing any impact on the search engines.

Ah, but what about the long term? What if the deal is approved and Microsoft eventually takes over Yahoo? Will Google be running for cover? Not likely. Nobody is entirely sure what Microsoft will do with Yahoo, but many feel the deal would result in MSN.com and the Live search engine being rolled into Yahoo in some manner.

In theory, this will result in Yahoo picking up a bunch of new users. These new users would increase its percentage of traffic controlled compared to Google and, supposedly, give it more leverage to turn deals against the interest of Google. This theory assumes, however, that all of the current MSN users would start using Yahoo. There is no evidence that this is true. A more likely scenario is the traffic would split up between the two search engines.

Ultimately, nobody really knows what the impact of a Microsoft purchase of Yahoo would mean to SEO. Heck, Yahoo hasn't even agreed to the deal! What we do know, however, is that if it goes forward, any impact probably will not be felt for years, so don't get to wrapped up in it.

Undesirable SEO and What to Do With a Small Marketing Budget

I got a lead through our website the other day with an interesting comment attached. The prospect was requesting specific information on pricing for our services but as you can read below, they simply copied the information from what another SEO provided them.

I am just starting an internet business and I am looking for the following services. Please let me know if these are services you can provide and if so an estimated cost. Thanks

1. Website Analysis to check the current status of your website.
2. Meta analysis and recreation of clients tags and keywords.
3. Link popularity program - Increase the amount of pages that link to you.
4. Automated Submissions to 1090 search engines for site indexing twice a month.
5. Manual Submissions to the search engines that don't accept automated submissions.
6. Submissions Report on the 1st and 15th of each month showing the progress of the website. "upon request"
7. We build you a Site Map for your website which helps all of your pages to be indexed into the search engines. The site map will also be submitted to 1090 search engines for site indexing twice a month.

My first response was to simply hit the delete button. If these guys were looking at a $20 junk SEO service then they were not going to be anywhere in the ballpark for the professional search engine marketing services we provide.

I could go through this line by line and pick it apart, but I won't simply because it's already obvious to anybody who knows anything about true optimization. Suffice to say for those who don't, that almost all of the "services" mentioned above range from mostly useless to completely useless. Link building is important, but without knowing more about their methodology, there is no way to know if there is value in that service. I suspect not, based on their "submissions to 1090 search engines." That's a service that is not even worth the digital space it takes up to be able to read it. It's clear that this is not an SEO that knows anything about what SEO really is.

Unfortunately, there are far too many of these faux SEO providers out there. The knowledge of these SEOs differ, some know enough to talk a good game, others know enough, or are good enough salespeople, to be able to sell a sham service. In either case, these are the SEOs that give the industry a bad name.

I went ahead and called this prospect and I'm glad I did. No, I wasn't able to sell them our service and hadn't expected too, but I may have prevented yet another business owner from being turned off to the SEO industry as a whole. What I was also able to do was to provide some education as to what they can and should do now and later in regards to promoting their website properly.

The bottom line for them was they didn't have a lot of money to invest in promotion. Now, frankly, I think anybody who thinks they have a strong business idea needs to do whatever they can to secure the financing necessary to market their website properly. But it's also true that there are many things that can be done to get your business model working with little or no cash.

Since this no-longer-a-prospect's website was new I mentioned to her that new sites almost always take a long period of time to start ranking well. She can get on Yahoo and MSN relatively quickly in some cases but with Google, it will be a long road. What she needs to do now is to generate some exposure. Paid ads are the quickest and easiest way to do this.

I have also suggested paid ads to other potential prospects that were unsure whether or not they had a viable business model. First of all, unless you are sure, it is probably best not to pour money into expensive, long-term contracts. Paid ads via Google and Yahoo are an ideal means to start producing traffic to your site and see if your business model (and website) works. If not, change the model or pack it in.

If you have a good business model, the exposure you gain from Google and Yahoo through paid ads will not only start producing income (if not a profit) but will also start getting people to your site. The more people that see it and like it, the more likely you are to start generating some natural links. Links are the first step in the process of getting search engines to your site to build search engine rankings.

Another thing I told her she could do is to write and submit articles to article banks. If well-written and informative, these articles will likely be re-distributed on a number of websites, and if you create a good bio, they'll link to your site as well. Those who read the article may visit the site and those who visit the site may link to it, creating even more incoming links.

Do this for six to twelve months and you now have site that has "aged" enough that a professional optimization campaign will be able to achieve some good rankings. It may take significantly longer to rank well for competitive phrases, but you should be able to target and rank well for enough keywords to produce an additional stream of targeted traffic, thereby boosting sales.

With any business, research is the key. One in ten businesses fails (online and off), largely because of a lack of funds and lack of research. If you are undercapitalized, research is even more important because this will help you make wise decisions as to where you put your money. It will also educate you enough to be able to identify which services are scams and which are legitimate.

I provided this prospect some knowledge that I hope will help guide her to build a successful business. And, since I was honest, willing and able to provide this information, who knows... maybe she will become a client at some point in the future.

Profitable Article Marketing - 5 Signs and Symptoms of a Lousy Article Marketing

If you are utilizing articles as your fundamental marketing tool, then you need to make sure that you are able to come up with a highly commendable and exemplary article contents. When the article material is not good, there will be lesser chances of you achieving good results. Below are some signs and symptoms of a lousy article and how you can repair them:

1. Lack of preparation in creating the article. Frequently, your ideas will not flow well because you have not decided what you want to put on your paper. In trying to figure out what to say while trying to say it may seem to be efficient, but this approach is counter-productive. You will end up not thinking coherently and not communicating clearly.

2. Misconceptions about writing. You might think that once prepared, you should be able to produce a nearly perfect product easily and swiftly. Writing is hard work. Although preparation will help you, it will not eliminate the tedious job of putting your thoughts into words.

3. Being too self-critical. You may have this kind of a thinking that your writing will be criticized by other people, then you become obsessed by what others will think of you as a writer. Careful preparation will help you decide what to say and will give you confidence that what you put on paper will not make you look foolish.

4. Confusing writing with editing. You may become bogged down because you edit excessively as you compose. Switching back and forth between creative and censoring modes interferes with the flow of ideas, words, and sentences. You will need to separate the writing phase from the editing phase.

5. Boredom on what you are doing. Working on an article to be used for marketing requires hours of intensive reading, researching, and discussion. It is not uncommon to feel bored with a topic before you even begin writing. That is why it is crucial that you love what you do, so you will be able to deliver great results.

The Importance of Page Rank

The aim of all on-line businesses is to be seen. To have increased traffic come to your site. This either means an extensive (and expensive) advertising campaign, or attempting to grow your site organically by gaining in-bound links. This is important as the number of in-bound links affects your page rank in Google and hence the positioning of your website within Google's results.

In effect, page rank is the means by which Google judges the 'worth' of a web page. Google themselves define Page Rank as:

Page Rank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual pages value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves 'important' weigh more heavily and help to make other pages 'important'.

What this means is that a link coming into your site counts as a positive vote in favour of your site by the internet community. The more incoming links you have then the more the internet community 'likes' your site and the more important your site is deemed to be.

The Page Rank algorithm itself was initially designed by Larry Page (hence Page rank) and later Sergei Brin (the founders of Google) at Stanford University in 1995, as part of a research project to design a new kind of search engine. In 1998 this led to the founding of Google.

What the page rank is attempting to measure is the probability that a person clicking links at random will end-up at your site. As part of this measurement the page rank of the page linking to you is measured. The more high-ranking pages that link to your site, then the better your overall ranking. Google's algorithm also likes links to sites to be grown organically. As a result uni-directional links to your site (so-called non-reciprocal links) count for more than reciprocal links (this is an attempt at removing, or at least reducing, the effects of link exchanges from the system).

This also means that established sites, with lots of in-bound links almost naturally rank higher than younger sites. The catch-22 of the system is that if you have a new site then you have no page rank, so you do not rate highly in Google's listings which means no-one can find your site so you can't get in-coming links to improve your page rank and make your site more visible.

Google's aim is that if you have a good site with good content then these incoming links will appear as your site is discussed in various forums and on various blogs. However, if youre a new site or you have content buried deep within your site how do you get a leg-up in the page rank game.

One way is to write reviews and articles and to submit these to review and article sites as you can add your URLs to these articles and reviews.

Another excellent way to gain in-coming links and page rank is to submit your site to link directories. Directories both catalogue links so that users can have easy access to them but they also publish these links on the web so that they can be found and indexed by search engines. These are excellent for getting your site noticed. However, there are some problems with these directories as it can take a long time for your site to be reviewed (up to several months). There is usually some kind of quality measure and deep links (even sub-directories) may not be accepted. As a result its not guaranteed that your site will be accepted.

If you want your site (especially deep links or multiple directories if your site is large) to be accepted then it may be better to go for the One Dollar Links Directories where you pay $1 for guaranteed inclusion into a directory and you can submit both sub-directories and links as deep as you like. These sites will usually accept multiple submissions so that you can get a large percentage of your site included for less than $10.

When considering submissions to links directories it is important that you only choose 'SEO-friendly directories' where the links to your sites are presented as plain links and there will be no more than 100 links on a page. This ensures that the search engines' indexing spiders actually index your URLs. This is especially important for the $1 links sites as they often present more than 100 links on a page.

Dyfed Lloyd Evans is the webmaster of the Celtnet Information site which offers news and information on various aspects of Internet Marketing and website design. As a service he has a directory of almost 800 SEO-friendly free links directories and a directory of SEO-friendly one dollar links directories. He has also started a new section on his site where you can submit internet products and website reviews and notices.

5 Ways How To Get A High Page Rank In The Next PR Update

Getting a high page rank is focused on how many back links you have. To get a high page rank you will need a lot of back links and from sites with high authority. There are a few tricks of the trade to achieve this and most of the time it does not involve buying or selling links which is expensive and not allowed by google.

10 Steps to a high Page rank:

1. Complete do follow blog lists. Leave valuable long comments on blogs and each counts as a back link.

2. Use digg and other social bookmarking services to get some back links. These links have high authority so they work very well.

3. Make sure to get links to the best directories such as Jayde, Dmoz and yahoo.

4. Make sure you use your signature links well in do follow forums. In some forums each post can count as a back link.

5. Involve your self with link exchanges. Make sure the site your exchanging with is from the same niche as your site and they have less than twenty outbound links per page. If they have more than twenty links per page it could actually damage your page rank instead of increase it.

Also expect the unexpected when it comes to PR updates. Often they will come very early or very late. Some times google can leave no update for six months and then have another two updates in two months. Just make sure you continue to work on these back link building strategies and every thing should turn out fine.
