Internet Marketing Coach - The Criteria You Need To Evaluate Before Hiring A Coach

When I first started my internet business the very course I did was by Corey Rudl. He has passed away since then, but he is a legend in the industry. So he was my very first coach. I learnt a lot and his course went a long way in helping me to establish my business. When you are starting in a new industry it is very important to learn from someone who is already successful. However you need to choose someone that you are comfortable learning from.

Now before you start a course and hire an internet marketing coach you need to evaluate a few criteria. First of all are you comfortable with the method that your coach is using to generate their online income? A typical example is the over hyped Day Job Killer. This ebook mainly used Google Adwords to generate money for affiliate income using direct linking. Now I am not saying this does not work, but not everybody may be suited for this. If you make a mistake it can be very costly.

You also need to consider how much the person who is teaching you is earning? If they are earning only a few hundred dollars or a few thousand dollars and you are earning more than that you need to question if it really is worth it? On the internet there are a lot of people who will try and make a fast buck even if they do not have enough experience in that specific field.

You also need to look at the system that they promote. Do they have ebooks, dvds, cds, forums and how their support is structured? For example if you have a problem how long will it take for them to get back to you. For some people reading an ebook alone will not help them while others are more suited to interactive discussions in forums.

Based on the above criteria you need to selectively choose your coach based on how they meet your needs.

Profitable Article Marketing - Latest 4 Advanced Steps to Supercharge Your Article Marketing

Writing and submitting articles on publishing sites is one of the greatest sales lead generation techniques today. However, there are marketers who fall short in their effort to pull their readers to their website and their connection to the readers instantly end there. You wouldn't want this to happen to your article marketing campaign, would you? That is why you need to supercharge your marketing efforts to make sure that your readers will be converted to clients.

Here are the advanced steps to supercharge your article marketing:

1. Include a "bait" on your resource box. You would like your readers to click the URL on your resource box and you have to make it happen. You can easily do that by including irresistible offer that will excite your readers. Some of the effective baits that you can use are free special reports, free eBooks, vouchers, discounts or even free articles.

2. Establish your credibility and expertise. Briefly tell your readers about your experiences or your achievements so you can prompt them to visit your website and get more information. Make sure that you make your call to action statement strong and impacting, otherwise you will lose a potential client.

3. Do not bore your readers. Make sure that your resource box is no more than 3 sentences. Remember you are not writing another article. Make it brief, concise, enticing, and powerful so your readers will not have reason not to click your website's URL.

4. Maximize your resource box. Most publishing sites allow you to use a maximum of 3 URLs. Take advantage of this and include at least 2 anchor texts using the most relevant keywords to your target niche. By doing so, you make it a bit easier for your readers to get to your website quickly.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Uncover 5 Intriguing Methods to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

If you are seriously thinking of using articles marketing to drive traffic to your site, pull up your search engine ranking, establish your expertise in your chosen field, and generate more income, you need to uncover these 5 intriguing methods so you can jumpstart your article marketing:

1. Make sure that you only submit original content. Copying somebody else's work in article marketing is a big no-no. This will not only tarnish your credibility online, but you will also be penalized by major search engines.

2. Target human emotions when writing your article. Instead of focusing your efforts on logical reasoning, touch your readers' emotions by pushing their buttons. How? If you are selling diet pills, focus on how weight gain affects the confidence and social life of your readers.

3. Keep your paragraphs shorter. Ideally, you should explain one idea on every paragraph. As a writer, you must be able to explain that idea in 4-5 sentences. You can easily do that by finding the most appropriate words to get your message across and eliminating fillers and fancy words to make your paragraph direct to the point and brief.

4. Provide your readers with useful information. Make sure that the content of your articles contain information that are highly relevant to your readers. If they are facing problems, be sure to offer solution. When you do this, online users will appreciate your writing and you will build a huge following in no time.

5. Make every word count. When you are using fillers and other unnecessary words on your articles, you are wasting your readers' precious time. To make your readers feel that you value their time, strike out words that do not help you in getting your message across.

Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me." Remember that saying from when you were a kid? Who were they kidding? Words are powerful tools and have a very profound effect on us. Words of praise make us happy; words of love fill us with warm emotions; words of criticism can make us sad or defensive, and angry words can hurt us deeply.

When you are creating articles, newsletters, press releases, etc., it is critical to choose your words carefully. You want your articles to be interesting as well as informative. If you are selling a product or service that you love, you want that passion to be evident in your writing. You want your readers to feel your enthusiasm and get excited over the product or service that you are offering. If you are trying to promote something that does not thrill or make you happy, you should probably think about your options. Life is too short not to love what you do.

Where do you find those "expressive" words?

1. A Thesaurus is a good place to start. The really great thing about this resource is that it is only a mouse click away. If the word you have chosen does not quite give you the punch you are looking for, check the Thesaurus for alternatives.

2. Look in the Dictionary to make sure you really understand what the word you are using means.

I had to write a marketing letter in a business communications class that I took several years ago and decided my product would be chocolate chip cookies (now you know what I am passionate about!). I thought I had written a great article. My mouth watered just reading about those cookies; just one little problem...I described the cookie as decadent. My professor noted, "You should make sure you know what a word means before you use it." Apparently he had never listened to chocolate commercials or used a Thesaurus. He went straight to Webster's New World Dictionary where decadent is described as, "a 19th century writer or artist living in a period of decline," not even one mention of self-indulgence! I still was able to argue my case thanks to the Thesaurus; however, maybe I should have looked the word up in the dictionary as well. I might have come up with a better description and avoided confusing the poor man.

Keep it simple.

1. Even though you want your words to be powerful, make sure they are not the latest "increase your vocabulary - word of the day." You want your readers to relate to what you are saying, not have to get a dictionary out to interpret every other word you wrote.

Words are wonderful, especially written words. So go ahead and express yourself; after all, there ARE enough words to describe!

5 Tips Guaranteed To Make Your More Money This Year!

As an Internet marketer, you need to learn how to boost your productivity. Your education is one of the best thing you can do for your web business. In fact, you shouldn't work in your business, but you should be thinking about what you can do to improve it.

Two months ago, I was watching a dvd (it was a recorded live online business seminar), and one of the guest speaker (several time millionaire) said that he didn't even know how to log into his adwords account. He delegates everything, and this is what you want to do as well.

For now, let me show you some of the things you can do to boost your online productivity and improve your business.

1) Don't check your email first, but work on your daily plan, and only when you finished, check your emails

2) Some simple things that you need to do everyday for your content sites (or blogs):

a) Get a new incoming link to your site

b) Add one page to your site

Tip: Even Better than a static html site: a wordpress blog

3) Take a day off every single week

4) My biggest productivity booster (discovered by accident!)

While you are working, switch off your Internet connection. It will prevent you to waste time surfing or getting lost in cyber forums.

It can seem crazy since you are an Internet marketer, but believe me it works.

5) Use Deadlines in everything you do

This will force you to do the work, because you don't have a boss. It seems crazy, but it's actually a "small" problem.

How To Double Or Triple Your Business Profitability Writing Simple 400 Words Articles

Article marketing is without a doubt one of the most effective ways to advertise on the Internet. If you don't know what is article marketing, you really want to get started today because of the numerous advantages of this traffic generation method.

Why is writing articles so critical for your online business? Why is it important that people read your articles even before they see your products?

1. The first concept you are going to discover is that content is king on the Internet. The more articles you can write, the more money you will make. It's a simple formula. I will go even further and say that you should put an important part of your advertising budget into content instead of simple ads.

Why? Because your content will be "sticky" on the Internet for years to come while your ads are only short lived.

2. Another important aspect of article marketing to consider is that your website will get better search engines. How is this possible?

Whenever you write an article, you should add a bio box with an anchor link pointing back to your website. This will count as a vote for you and your site will raise in the pages of results.

This will bring even more customers into your marketing funnel.

3. Credibility. The more articles you syndicate all other the web, the more exposure and branding you will get. People in your niche will start to see your niche on many websites and you will gain the status of guru. A guru is an expert in the niche.

I remember the first time I received an email from one of my subscribers. She told me that I was a guru. I never pretend to be a guru, but your customer put you in this position because they think you are one.

4. Article marketing is not a fad. In fact, the Internet is a web of millions and millions of articles.

Be sure to write and submit articles because your business will become much more profitable. The more articles you syndicate and the more money you make. Don't over complicate anything.

MSN Writing - Here's A Simple Way To Escape Career Boredom

Now let us look at the typical internet marketer. Usually if they are using ppc to drive traffic to their web site then they will have the headache of tracking and monitoring their campaigns to make sure that they are profitable. Similarly if they are using another form of paid advertising like ezine advertising they have to follow a similar process.

Now let us look at the way these article directories work. They have advertising on the web sites and they allow publishers to submit their articles. If the article is of significant quality it will get approved and in return the writer of the article will get good search engine rankings on search engines like MSN because the article directories have very high page rank.

Also there is a viral component. When publishers look for valuable content to publish on their web site they get this from the article directories. This saves them from the time required writing the articles. So this creates many different sources from which you will get traffic from. In your article you are allowed to put your bio which is your unique selling proposition and a link to your web site.

Now this is where you monetize your web site. When a visitor visits your web site you capture their name and email address and market to them over and over again. This can be a product that you create or a wholesale product that you drop ship.

If you do this process of writing articles consistently and writing articles for MSN and other search engines you can become very wealthy over a long period of time. You may seriously want to start considering this as an alternative career if you have an entrepreneurial mindset.

Getting Started With Bum Marketing

The phrase bum marketing was coined by Travis Sago as his own way of article marketing, and Bum Marketing is a fast and easy way of earning money. You can get great search engine rankings by concentrating on keywords and targeting a niche audience. You should ideally include a resource or bio box at the end of your article which contains a link to the product or service which you want to publicize.

  • First choose which niche market or product you would like to endorse. After you have decided on the target market do some research and find out which product will sell the most. You could also search Google to help in your research. Click bank is a nice place to begin with.
  • Study the market and product carefully and decide which keywords you should concentrate on. These should be directly pertinent to the product that you are advertising. You want search engines to pick up these keywords that you come up with and aid in developing the search engine ranking of your article.
  • You should have a good understanding about what your product, service or niche market is about after researching it. Then promptly write articles based on what you found out. These dont have to be very long articles, about three hundred to five hundred words articles will suffice. It would be a good idea to not include all information about the product in one article, but to cut up the subject into many aspects, one of which you can focus on in each article. Thus, the whole group of articles that you write will cover all features of the product. The point you have to keep in mind is to write a lot of articles in a short amount of time.
  • You should include a resource box at the end of your article which should contain a link to the product youre promoting. Make sure that you do not make it sound like you are trying to sell the product. Just make it seem like a very good offer which the reader will be attracted by and want to visit the link to know more about the offer.
  • After completing your article, submit it to article directories on the internet. Searching Google will give you thousands of options, but EzineArticles.com is thought to be the most popular article directory.
People can find your articles if they have a high ranking on search engines, but that depends on how inundated that niche market is. The other way is when e-zine and blog owners include articles from article directories as content. If featured on a popular e-zine or blog, your article could be read by thousands.

Bum marketing is a great and free way to publicize online as it requires very little investment. Your articles will ideally generate a few sales, or get no response or lead to many sales. Bum marketing concentrates on producing many articles to increase the chances of success.

Buying Articles for the Web

Offering free content on yours or others business Web site is a crucial part of Internet marketing. In fact, thats how Internet marketing got started, which is why everyone wants and expects something for nothing on the World Wide Web. Theyve always been getting it.

The public has come to expect Internet information to be free, and those most-often searched keywords are what will take consumers to your Web site. Once youve determined the most visited keywords in your industry, youll want to write or find articles that incorporate them.

If youre not a good writer, or you dont have the time it takes to write articles, you can use the articles of others. You can offer local writers or industry experts to contribute articles in return for their bio which gives their own site and business credibility, branding and traffic. Or you can buy articles from people you dont know. One way of doing this is through an article membership site. Here youll find articles on just about any subject, with new ones added all the time.

There are many sites that offer articles and memberships to help your Internet marketing. The catch, however, is that each invariably limits its membership ranks so that the Internet marketing articles dont get published too often. You may have to do some searching, or some waiting, to get a membership in the Internet marketing article membership site of your choice.

Once you are a member and you find the articles you want to publish your Internet marketing work is not done, however, You have to do some rewriting, making it not only fresh and unique to your site, but also giving it a little tweak so it talks directly about your industry, and, if possible, about your products or services.

You may find an article or articles that particular fit your Web site and your business but the keywords you need arent found that densely in the article. So youll need to do that. Thats fairly easy to do, and far easier than sitting down and writing your own article.

Never take an article from an article membership site and publish it verbatim. This is destructive to your Internet marketing concept. You want to make it yours your voice, your personality and your products. You might even find a lengthy article that you could use as a tease, publishing the first part and then offering the conclusion next week. You might also publish a newsletter a great Internet marketing tool. You start the article in the newsletter and refer readers to your site for the conclusion.

Whatever you do, make it yours. Your Internet marketing will succeed as a result.

Article Marketing - Six Secrets Revealed

Article marketing is the only method I use for driving traffic to my sites and it works well. The biggest problem people seem to have with article marketing is that they don't think it's possible to write a lot of articles in a short time. I'm here to tell you it is possible.

The more articles you publish, the more success you have. So ideally, you should aim to publish around 10 articles a day. Here are my top 6 tips for article marketing success.

  1. Write down 10 topics that you plan to write articles about. Stick to what you know, so that it keeps it quick. If you have a piece of software to help you out of course, just write down any topics. Write them in word, so you can keep being creative on your computer.
  2. Start your first article. Write an introduction. 100 words should do it and will get you off to a good start with the rest of your article.
  3. In your first sentence introduce what you are writing about. In the second sentence pose a challenge and in the third sentence, solve it. Then use 6/7 bullet points for the bulk of your article.
  4. My articles are usually about 300 words. Keep it short and concise.
  5. Don't obsess over quality. If you write what you know, or use software to generate your article it will be quality writing anyway.
  6. Keep writing. If you don't see success straight away, keep at it. There is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme and article marketing is no different. It will happen for you if you keep writing.

Article Marketing For Massive Traffic - 3 Of My Biggest Secrets!

Article marketing is not as profitable as before. That's what 'gurus' tend to say to get you afraid. The truth is, although there are more article writers right now, the amount of people surfing the Internet has also increased. So it comes down to the same amount of traffic.

Here are my 3 biggest secrets for getting massive traffic from your article marketing:

1. Always Build A List With Your Opt-In Page

This is what I do - I always build a list by sending traffic from my articles to a opt-in page. I don't send them to a sales page - that just turns most people off. But a squeeze page offering free information is better received. List building is one of the key activities you must be concentrating on online, so direct your traffic to build your list!

2. Submit Only To The Top Directories

Although you can make submitting articles to hundreds of directories quicker with an article submitter, it's still terribly difficult. You have to register at all the directories, and most article directories are different from each other, so that makes article submitting with submitters a slow process still. My advice: submit only to the top 5 directories. Spend more time writing articles.

3. Write In A Conversational Style

Let's face it, as human beings we are emotional beings. We respond better to conversational writing (that's why blogs are so popular!) than boring, technical writing. Unless your subject calls for it, I'd advice writing in a conversational style (like what I'm doing here!) as this will generate windfall results.

A Marketing Strategy In Its Simplest Form

Marketing strategies come after the objectives and vision and mission statement and before the action plan and tasks. The marketing strategy is how you are going to carry out the objective.

Tasks contain the detail. Tasks are what you want to list and keep track of in your day timer system not your marketing plan. Whether that is in Outlook, a Franklin-type system, or in your electronic appointment system like a Palm Pilot. It doesn't matter if you prefer to start with a task and work your way up into the objective or work from the objective down. Both should accomplish the same result.

After creating the objectives, and making sure they are S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, action-oriented and achievable, realistic, and timely), focus on one and progress to the Action Plan and Tasks. Completing one at a time in this manner will expose any gaps or duplicates.

Occasionally, there may be several strategies to one objective or several objectives for one strategy. If this occurs look for duplicates. Duplicates say the same thing in different words. This review will keep the plan clear and concise.

In my consultant role, I consistently see two mistakes made during the strategy clarification process. Keep these in mind as you define yours:

1. Timeframe not considered or matched so that it can deliver the results desired.

2. Choosing what is comfortable but doesn't reach a large enough profitable target market.

Timeframe

Strategies need to be designated as short-term, medium-term, or long-term. The length of time for each depends on the business focus, market, and its maturity stage. For a new business owner, maybe all you can handle is a 3-month plan -- short term. Whereas an established business may state theirs in longer times: short-term 1 year, medium 3 years, and long-term 5 years. A mature business may be 3, 5 and 10.

Operating in a 30-day vacuum for too long creates flash fires that consistently need to be distinguished. When this occurs the business is running you. At day 31 its a scramble to create the next 30-day plan and the cycle repeats. After so many of these cycles even the most patient person will give up on planning.

Balance for a new business will have more short-term objectives and strategies and less medium and long-term. This normally occurs because testing and finding what works is still a big part of their process and the marketing system is still in flux.

Balance for an established business (5-10 years) would have more objectives and strategies under medium-term. Whereas a mature business (ten years up) would be striving for more smoothness in their long-term strategies except for new product or service development which begins its heaviest set of strategies in the short-term.

Choice

Choosing the right strategy isn't always about setting a strategy comfortable for the solopreneur. The correct strategy is one that is right for the prospects. The best one delivers the results desired. Normally, one that reaches the market in the fastest and easiest manner using the least amount of resources.

I hear comments from solopreneurs like this: "I don't like to do that." "I simple can't possibly do that." "I refuse to do that." "I don't have the time." This closed mind just because its uncomfortable is their saboteur to success. Afterwards they justify it with, "Money isn't everything." They logically know that its natural to justify any decision we make but they don't see the connection. Some figure this out years later, others never get it and go out of business, and others finally get themselves to that comfortable place.

The perfect strategy services both the comfort level and the broadest market possible so it may deliver the desired results.

Don't waste time doing what you are comfortable with that doesn't reach a profitable enough market. This wastes valuable and limited resources and creates failure.

Once you incorporate these important features into your strategy development you will your plan easier to follow and implement.

Announcing 3 Fresh Secrets to Grow Your Article Marketing

Why do other online businesses succeed while others don't? It is because they have not really implemented their internet marketing strategies well, including article marketing. You should stay away from the notion that this technique only requires you to write articles, and that's it. Otherwise, you will definitely fail.

Here are 3 fresh secrets to grow your article marketing:

1. Improve your writing skills. All things change, even the tastes of your readers. You will never be able to satisfy their needs if you are not also going to improvise and innovate your writing techniques. This is going to be quite a challenge, though, but this will surely pay off when time comes. You can learn to develop your skill by reading other people's works and by enriching your vocabulary.

2. Spend money in article marketing. If you think that the only way to get published in well-established magazines is to pay for space, then so be it. After all, when you're in article marketing, you have to exhaust every possible means to have your copies read by as many targeted customers as possible. However, you have to make sure that your paid membership or inclusion is truly worth it. Otherwise, you can stick with free article directories in the meantime.

3. Build relationships with other writers and webmasters. Perhaps you may have never felt it, but sooner or later, you need help of other people. For example, you can request your webmaster-friends to publish some of your articles with links to your website in their pages. When you don't have much time to produce your own articles, you can always runt to your article writers. Finding friends in the World Wide Web will surely make article marketing a much easier technique to implement.

Fundamentals of Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most effective ways to generate highly targeted traffic to your website. It's also great for accumulating one-way inbound links and improving your position on search engine result pages. In fact, considering all the various facets of the online world, article marketing might be the single best thing you can do to promote your site.

Few people follow through with article marketing over an extended period of time because it's a huge effort and it frequently just falls through the cracks. This article is designed to give you the fundamentals of article marketing in a sequence that will make the whole process a lot easier. Start at the beginning and follow along from there. It will make your efforts more productive and improve your results at the same time.

First off, don't just jump in and start typing. I know you probably have a lot to say but you'll end up shooting yourself in the foot because you'll touch on multiple topics in a single article. It's easy to do. When your typing without following a structure, your thoughts are much more fluid, getting intertwined between them and that will limit the number of articles you can write before you feel like you've run out of things to say.

Instead, write a huge outline with all the various articles you can write. Jot down their titles one after another and put 3 or 4 bullet points under each one. This will keep your thoughts structured and allow you to think of far more individual topics then you'd end up with if you just started typing. Get your outline nailed down first and only start typing after that.

Second, don't try writing big long articles. Everyone on the internet is in a hurry and they generally don't want to read a huge long article anyway. Stay within 500 to 700 words. Use the 3 or 4 bullet points in your outline as a guide. If you wrote two paragraphs on each point along with an introduction and conclusion paragraph, your article would be done.

If you want to get your articles out to the maximum number of locations, I recommend using an article distribution service like iSnare. For about $1, you can have them electronically distribute your article to literally thousands of different article directories and other online publishing locations. You'll be amazed where your articles start showing up.

Some people claim this strategy is flawed because Google punishes you for duplicate content. So, if the same article is published in two different places, Google gives less credit to each location. That's a valid argument but the time necessary to rewrite your articles is prohibitive and I personally think the net effect is positive.

When you publish articles online, you are given a Resource Box where you can write a few words about yourself and include a link back to your website. This is a great opportunity to include a call to action and encourage readers to click through to your website. It's also a great opportunity to put your link on keyword phrases you're targeting. In other words, rather than putting your link on the name of your website, put it on the anchor text you're targeting for the search engines. Google considers anchor text for inbound links so you can quickly improve your position by using this strategy.

Tactical Execution relies on article marketing for its primary online marketing strategy. During our 100-day project, I'm publishing a new article every single day and you can find them all at the website. You'll also find lots of other tools are resources there and I hope you visit.

Bridge the Article Marketing Gap - Reconciling Two Theories of Article Marketing

Article marketing should be an energetic and highly utilized part of any web-business strategy. The two primary ideologies of article distribution - wide array mass-distribution versus focused, small-scale distribution - seem at first to be irreconcilable. However, bringing the two methods together can multiply web traffic by exploiting the best aspects of each, so you can have your cake and eat it, too.

Conservative Distribution Theory

Recently, the most widely accepted theory of article marketing has been to use a focused technique of distributing articles to a handful of quality article directories. The primary reason this method became popular was that search engines began downgrading or penalizing websites that consisted of duplicate content. The search engines had good reason for that. It is not fair to rank cut-and-paste content the same as content created by the hand and mind of dedicated, interested people. The down side of that change of policy is that those of us who wanted to spread our homemade articles out to numerous sources found that our hard work was suddenly viewed less positively. The result was that the good, ethical article marketers set to work writing more articles and distributing them to ten or fifteen highly ranked article directories, while the black-hat guys searched for new dastardly schemes.

The benefits of the new rules were twofold:

1) Instead of spreading a few articles over a very wide area, we were creating more articles on our topics, which helped to bolster our image as experts in our field. Even if we got a bit less traffic, the traffic we did get was of a much higher quality.
2) Submitting to fewer directories meant that we could focus on getting our articles into the proper categories on the higher tier article directories. Once again, this seemed to result in better traffic.

Liberal Distribution Theory

This technique evolved quite naturally from the early days of internet marketing. As soon as we were capable, of course we submitted our articles to as many directories as possible. The more links we had floating out there, the more traffic we received. Much of that traffic was of lower quality, but that was not as important. As long as our servers could take it, we wanted it.

The benefits of the old way were, coincidentally, also twofold:

1) We were able to cast a much wider net. We could throw out the garbage and the small fish, and we kept only the fish we wanted. (I know it is a hackneyed metaphor, but it is true.)
2) With the advent of automated mass-distribution technology, we could get our message and our links out there with one click of the mouse. Maybe our articles were not always placed in the best category, but there were so many instances of our work on the internet that it did not drastically affect our results.

Then, in a story that seems to keep repeating itself, the spammers ruined it for everyone. Of course, they only ruined the easiness of article marketing, not the effectiveness. I must reiterate that these conditions forced us to work harder, which led to our increased knowledge, which then led to our being even better in our niches. Take that, spammers.

The New, Centrist Distribution Theory

Very simply, this is a combination of the two previously described theories. This method was created because although search engines downgrade duplicate content, they do not discount it entirely. If an article marketer today were to use mass-distribution alone, his work would not draw traffic to the level it would have a few years ago. However, his net would still be cast wide, with little effort required after writing the article.

It is now becoming clear that these two techniques can coexist. The trick is to find the right blend.

Some very successful article marketers use mass-distribution services for ten to thirty percent of the articles they write. The rest are submitted by hand (though there are software programs that can simplify this process) to specific categories in article directories that publish high quality, original content. This gives them two nets - one wide net and one deep net. They get long-lasting backlinks that bring them targeted traffic from the manual submissions, and they get volume from the mass-distribution.

The last remaining task is one that never actually ends. Successful article marketers never stop experimenting with which articles to mass-distribute, and with how many to mass-distribute. Start your campaign today, and watch your traffic skyrocket in a few short months.

10 Surefire Strategies for Marketing to Generation Y

They're called Generation Y, Millennials, Echo Boomers, and Connecteds. By whatever name, this generation of youth born after 1977 represents more than 70 million consumers in the United States. They earn a total annual income of about $211 billion, spend approximately $172 billion per year** and considerably influence many adult consumer buying choices, so no longer are they the youth that will be seen but not heard -- and marketing professionals need to take notice!

Generation Y cannot be reached through traditional marketing channels. Direct mail, print ads, and television advertising bounce off these powerful consumers like bullets on Superman's chest. They are impermeable to the marketing messages that appealed to their parents and grandparents. Generation Y represents a massive group of influencers -- the largest, and the most cutting edge generation in our history. They cut their teeth on technology, grew up with the knowledge they could do anything (because their parents and teachers told them so!), and the desire to make a difference in their world.

So how do you break through this marketing barrier when they can choose their own music without listening to a commercial radio station, can block outsiders from their social circle -- which revolves around cell phones and online networks like Facebook and MySpace -- and only refer to newspapers when they need packing material to move on to their next venue?

In my work with emerging leaders, I've discovered many ways in which marketers have totally missed the mark with Generation Y consumers by not acknowledging their motivators. So let me clue you in to the ways in which you can effectively connect with this growing market of savvy spenders.

1) Respect them as consumers: Members of Generation Y are tech savvy and highly intelligent. Don't talk "at" or "down to" them.

2) Get to know them. Before they will do business with you, Generation Yers want to know that you care enough to find out what makes them tick. But don't rely on the old method of marketing surveys. Get out there and talk to them. Find out how they spend their free time, the music they listen to, and what they eat, wear, read, watch, and drive. You might just be surprised by what you learn!

3) Look cool and hip: As Steve Jobs said about his Apple iBook: "I wanted to make the computer look so cool and so attractive that Generation Y would want to lick the screen." Generation Y will buy based on a sleek, beautiful, cool-looking package. To see what's working, visit http://Apple.com.

4) Be socially responsible: Generation Y is incredibly conscious about social causes including the environment, animal rights, and world hunger. They want to know that your company is aligned with a cause that creates an emotional connection with them.

5) Be real: Young consumers can spot a phony from a mile away. Don't try to talk the talk if you don't speak the language. Be honest and open. Drop the old sales-speak and be sincere when marketing your products and services.

6) Join their networks: Generation Y will not come looking for you. If you want to attract Generation Y, go where they hang out: social networking sites. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, and Second Life are the hot sites for Generation Y and cost nothing to join. Invest time in reading what they are writing about and getting engaged in an online conversation, and your return will be the knowledge of how to market to them.

7) Take it to the streets: Today's youth love experiences. Promotional stunts, product sampling, and rollouts in a strategically placed venue attract the young urban buyer. They thrive on word of mouth marketing, and street marketing is one of the best ways to create buzz for the young consumer. Today's smart marketers use street teams and event marketing to reach Generation Y. For more information visit http://www.streetteampromotion.com and http://www.mryouth.com.

8) Give them a chance to win: Generation Y is wild about winning a contest or receiving a gift, especially if it's meaningful to them, like an iPod, a trip to a national snowboarding competition, or tickets to a hot concert. And you'll always be able to reel them in with great java and food. But one caveat: Generation Yers travel in groups so be sure the gift or prize includes enough spending power for them to bring along their friends.

9) Go viral: YouTube turned the Internet from an information highway into an entertainment complex without walls. Video (vodcast) and audio (podcasts) bits uploaded to your site can spread across the Internet as Generation Yers share their favorites with their friends, who pass it along to their circle, and so on.

10) Text them: I hear many older generation leaders saying, "I don't text message. I don't even use e-mail." If you can't connect with their preferred method of communication (texting over email), forget about reaching Generation Y. Learn how to integrate mobile technology in your marketing efforts to get into their networks and be seen. Look at how popular shows like American Idol use texting to vote for their favorite performers, because the producers recognize that their audience is primarily is Generation Y!

Generation Y is not difficult or complicated. They are truly unique. And these young people are going to be your customers, if only you learn how to reach out to them.

Article Marketing Basics - Marketing Your Articles

One of the great things about the Internet is that all of a sudden, you can find an expert on just about anything, no matter how obscure. As a result of this, people are looking for experts in order to write articles. It has even hit the point that experts now need to know how to market themselves

There are some basic techniques anyone can use. The first is to have a blog or site where you write about what it is that you are an expert in. Not only do you show that you are an expert, but that you can write. This should be considered a vital first step. And take advantage of your professional contacts; if you are someone who truly is considered an expert in your field, then others will try to get you write about your background, and that can help get jobs as well.

You also need to find a site that is looking for your expertise. Then can involve an intensive web search, but you need to look for somewhere to write in order to get paid for writing. It may take a while, but you should find the site eventually. You should also be aware that it can be the most annoying step; even if you are the biggest expert in your field, you may have a problem establishing a reputation in at the respective site (after all, you are new to the site, and so have a lack of reputation to deal with).

Don't forget to keep studying; you need to take writing classes, as well as keep abreast of your field. If you can get better at writing, it will definitely help your odds of being able to write about your topic; too many people forget that you need to be an expert in not just your field, but need to be able to write about it as well.

Search Engines - Inside Out

Term 'search engine' is generally used to describe search engines based on crawling technology and human edited web directories. Both the search engines operates differently.

Search Engines Based on Crawling Technology

Search engines like Google is considered as Crawler based search engines and they build their listings automatically. They "crawl" or "spider" the web pages, then people search through what they have found.

If you change your web pages, search engines operates on crawling technology, eventually find these changes automatically. They will rate your website based on the changes you have made and that can affect how you are listed. Page titles, meta tags, header, body and all other elements plays the major role in your website listing.

Human Edited Web Directories

A human edited web directory, such as DMOZ - Open Directory, depends on humans for its listings. You submit a link with short description about your website to the directory, human editors review your website and list you on the directory. A search looks for matches only in the descriptions submitted.

Changing your web pages has no effect on your listing. Things that are useful for improving a listing with a search engine have nothing to do with improving a listing in a directory. The only exception is that a good site, with good content, might be more likely to get reviewed for free than a poor site.

Hybrid Search Engines

In the web's early days, it used to be that a search engine either presented crawling based results or human edited listings. Today, it extremely common for both types of results to be presented. Usually, a hybrid search engine will favor one type of listings over another. For example, MSN Search is more likely to present human-powered listings from LookSmart. However, it does also present crawler-based results (as provided by Inktomi), especially for more obscure queries.

The Parts Of A Crawling Based Search Engines

Crawler-based search engines have three major elements. First is the spider, also called the crawler. The spider visits a web page, reads it, and then follows links to other pages within the site. This is what it means when someone refers to a site being "spidered" or "crawled." The spider returns to the site on a regular basis, such as every month or two, to look for changes.

Everything the spider finds goes into the second part of the search engine, the index. The index, sometimes called the catalog, is like a giant book containing a copy of every web page that the spider finds. If a web page changes, then this book is updated with new information.

Sometimes it can take a while for new pages or changes that the spider finds to be added to the index. Thus, a web page may have been "spidered" but not yet "indexed." Until it is indexed -- added to the index -- it is not available to those searching with the search engine.

Search engine software is the third part of a search engine. This is the program that sifts through the millions of pages recorded in the index to find matches to a search and rank them in order of what it believes is most relevant. You can learn more about how search engine software ranks web pages on the aptly-named How Search Engines Rank Web Pages page.

Major Search Engines: The Same, But Different

All crawler-based search engines have the basic parts described above, but there are differences in how these parts are tuned. That is why the same search on different search engines often produces different results. Some of the significant differences between the major crawler-based search engines are summarized on the Search Engine Features Page. Information on this page has been drawn from the help pages of each search engine, along with knowledge gained from articles, reviews, books, independent research, tips from others and additional information received directly from the various search engines.

Article Marketing - The Single Most Effective Method To Increase Your Sales On The Internet!

Writing and submitting articles to directories can considerably increase your traffic and sales. It doesn't matter if you never wrote a single word before or if the last time you wrote a three hundred words article was more than ten years ago.

If you have a website about 'dog training', start writing right away. Just write like you talk. In fact, you can just write your articles as though you were talking in just simple, every day language that your reader will enjoy reading.

Don't be too concerned if you don't think you are good at writing articles, they don't need to be perfect. All you need to do is to give your reader useful information. If you can help them and give them the solution that to solve their problems faster, you will make a lot of money.

Your articles don't need to be extremely long but most article directories will have a minimum word of around 250 words.

With article marketing, you can promote your own product, affiliate products, your website or your blog. In fact, you can promote everything under the sun. Just be sure to add a bio box with a link to your web property.

Another advanced technique is to send your visitors to a squeeze page to capture their email address. Doing this will allow you to send them promotional offers for months to come.

Once you have written an article you then need to submit it to article directories. It is important to submit to at least a couple of the top directories such as EzineArticles, Article Dashboard and Article City. These directories have high page rankings so your articles will receive many visitors. Now when your articles have been approved and published then you should receive many visitors when people search Google for any of your keywords.

Article Marketing vs Social Networking - Why Stumbleupon Traffic Makes Me Feel Unloved

Most affiliate marketers have experience it at least once. You go to check your site stats and notice that your site has gotten more than 5 times the amount of traffic you usually see in a month and all that brand new traffic has arrived TODAY. Your heart slams in your chest a little as you check the source and notice that it is StumbleUpon and all those crazed stumblers that have made your traffic go through the roof.

The problem is, and youll discover this the moment you start checking other stats, those Stumblers arent sticking around. The bounce rate nearly matches the incoming traffic and your Adsense account isnt exactly feeling the StumbleUpon love either. No one seems to be clicking on those juicy Adsense boxes at all. So you check your affiliate accounts. Affiliate earnings are better than Adsense money any day, right? Darn it! Those Stumblers arent buying anything either! What is wrong with these people?

Nothings wrong with them actually. Its just a different mindset and its common to all the social networks. Social networkers arent generally in a shopping mood when they are surfing Digg or Stumbleupon or Reddit. Theyre in the mood to be entertained and they want to be entertained quickly. So they move on from one site to the next, barely stopping to read what you have to say as they kill time looking for a fix to their boredom.

This is a whole lot different than what youll see when your article links are clicked. Your articles are usually found during a search at one of the big search engines. The reader is looking for something specific and theyve just found your article. If your article has managed to capture their interest and they actually click a link in your resource box, they are that much more likely to be interested in anything you might suggest for them to buy. Theyll also spend more time reading about the benefits and advantages of what you are selling so the bounce rate for article traffic is significantly lower than that social network traffic.

Sure, it often takes longer to see significant traffic from article marketing, but since that traffic also converts to paying customers at much higher rates than social network traffic, you need much less of it to fatten your wallet.

So stick to article marketing and leave the social network link baiting to the Flickrites and Youtubers. If you want to make money, slow and steady article writing wins the race.

Internet Marketing: Has Traditional Web Site Optimization (SEO) Outlived Its Usefulness

When it comes to internet marketing, traditional web site optimization (SEO) still stands as the holy grail, but an increasing number of small and medium sized business owners, facing the prospect of high SEO fees, are just now beginning to turn to an alternative promotional method that is generating consistent and quantifiable results at a fraction of the cost. The cost of SEO, at least when it comes to highly competitive keyword phrases, is prohibitive for all but those with deep pockets.

"Matt Hocken, of Interactive Marketing, Inc., estimates that one can expect to pay upwards of $50,000 - $100,000 a year to secure top ten Google placement for a highly competitive keyword phrase like 'life insurance' or 'debt consolidation' and that's obviously out of the question for the small to medium sized business," Ron Scott, Fast Track SEOP's senior publicist reports.

Even the cost for placement using less popular keyword phrases can be high.

"A Houston publicist recently paid $5,000 to get her website optimized for a small number of obscure keyword phrases that Overture reports are cumulatively generating fewer than 200 inquiries a month. Not told that 50-75% of those searches are being routinely conducted by webmasters, SEOs, and website owners checking the current status of their websites, she's now wondering if she'll ever recoup the expense," Scott says.

So whats the alternative? Pop-ups? Pop unders? Banner ads? Email? Not hardly.

Unlike an organic search engine optimization program that can take months and even years to start showing results, internet press releases start generating interest the day they are published.

"A properly optimized and distributed press release will typically generate 50,000 - 100,000 actual reads the first week it goes on line," says Scott.

According to Scott, unlike traditional press releases, 98% of all internet press releases are read by consumers and B2B prospects.

"Originally, press releases were the exclusive domain of the Fortune 500 and were directed to the mass media, but not any more. Small and medium sized businesses have discovered that they can deliver their messages directly to a broad (national or international) or highly targeted (local or regional) audience on the internet and, thereby, eliminate the tedious process of media placement," he says.

Scott points out that the value of an internet press release promotional strategy doesnt stop there.

"Press releases can also be optimized for organic search which enables those who find their newly published websites residing in Google purgatory, the opportunity to secure top ten rankings in a week or less," Scott says.

To illustrate the value of the internet marketing strategy, Scott points to a release he prepared and distributed on behalf of a little known manufacturer in New Zealand.

"The first 30 calendar days, it generated 133,686 reads, drove over 25,000 visitors to their website, and generated 100s of inquiries from B2B prospects all over the world," he says. "Since that sampling taken at the beginning of June, the release has generated an additional 42,443 reads and a commensurate level of traffic and inquiries. "It's the gift that keeps giving," he says.

Has traditional web site optimization outlived its usefulness?

"For most of our clients it has," Scott says.

Productive Article Marketing Revealed - 4 Comprehensive Ways to Multiply Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the best website SEO strategies that is designed to get free targeted traffic for your website. It works by writing original articles that are related to your target niche and submitting them to various article directories online. These articles are then posted by publishers so other webmasters and ezine publishers can use them for free as long as they keep the resource box that directs online users to your website.

1. The success in article marketing largely depends on the quality of articles your write. In order for your copies to be widely distributed, they must be easy to read, well-written and focused on your target niche. Focus on writing articles that offer solutions as these are the kinds of copies that are often search for by most online users.

2. Choose keyword-rich titles. People search the internet through the use of keywords. When you make your headlines keyword-rich, they will be most likely to be found by your potential readers. To further entice your readers to open your articles, make sure that your headlines are intriguing and attention-grabbing.

3. Keep your articles short. Online users today have shorter attention span and they prefer short articles that are direct to the point and meaty.

4. Multiple the number of your articles. While it it true that the quality of your articles is the number one element that dictates the success of your article marketing campaign, the quantity of your articles plays crucial part too. As each submission grants you one quality inbound link, the more articles you submit, the more links you obtain for your website that can result to increased traffic and of course, sales.
